This seems to be the perfect USB fan to cool USB Block Eruptors:

Anyone know of a better (preferably cheap) USB fan?

Doesn't have a protective encasement. So maybe less suitable if you have kids/cats.

As hot as these get without a fan, they shouldn't be anywhere near those anyway.

I've got a couple of Thermaltake AF0007 120 mm fans on order, but no experience yet with them.

Try keeping kids or cats away from somewhere they shouldn't be. Cheesy

I took an old USB 1.1 cable, and stripped the wires. Then I took one of those Molex to fan adapters (like below), and stripped those wires. Twist them together, tape it up, and  you've got a USB adapter. Now I can plug any computer fan I want into it. I've got an old 90mm now, but I've got plenty of 120 and 140mm that also work. Virtually silent, low RPM, and do a nice job.

I like the efficiency of USB fans but i think using computer fan if have power supply u can do, or small desk fan makes more sense unless you have a open spot.  Using 1 of 10 slots with a fan seems inefficient.

It depends on your luck but they can get up to 50-60c dependant on the surrounding ambient air temperature.

Message me if you have any problems

I've been using the fan in the OP to cool 4 BlockErupters and an Antminer U2 for a while now and I very much like it. It keeps the miners really cool (the heat sinks don't even get warm). And it's rather quiet as well!

This is my setup:

Sorry for the necro, but I wanted to share this with you. Smiley
