which ones?

the ones that claim that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme? i agree. better people don't find out.

the ones that promote explicit ponzi games? i agree, too. it's too ironic Wink

All should just be kept in the Gambling subforum.  I mean, someone does win, usually a few people, in those Ponzi schemes lol

In 2006-2007, E-gold was after by Chinese gov. as some bad guy developed ponzi schemes, named E-gold-invest. This ponzi scheme get hundreds of thousands people lost money.

Yes, you're all smart guys, who can distinguish between E-gold and E-gold-invest, Bitcoin/Bitcoin-ponzi-game/flexcoin,

However, I assure you that these ponzi stuff will do harm to bitcoin, just as E-gold-invest do harm to E-gold.

id say ban them, but who am i kidding, part of what bitcoin is lets us get around bans an use our money how WE want. so in the spirit of letting people do what they like with their money id say move it all to a gambling subforum. that goes of course without saying.. im only talking of the ones that say "im running a ponzi scheme, get in now and make it big or lose out big if your the last!" the ones that /hide/ it... should definitely be banned here Tongue that said... i don't support them, i just support the freedom we should all be so lucky to have.

I don't think they hurt anyone.... I ran one that went for a while, was completely open/transparent with it so people knew what was going on.  Now it seems that most people think it's a right of passage after getting out of the newbie section to go create their own "game".

Also, I think we should ban those posts about 'bitcoin forum' discussion in the 'bitcoin discussion' forum.

This would be the right place to be complaining.....

It's not a ponzi "schemes" if they tell you exactly what it does and how it works.

What's the difference from playing at the casinos?
If you start banning certain services for whatever reason, it kind of kills a big part of what makes bitCoin attractive.

Loosing in an openly ponzi/pyramid scheme game should at least earn you the rank of nominee to the Darwin Awards...

But poor people tend to have more kids... so wouldn't that be the exact opposite of the point of the Darwin Awards?

Also, I think you meant losing not loosing.  Saw in your profile that you're in Brazil so I'm assuming ESL.

as a newcomer to the bitcoin community there is a huge amount of 'junk' to sift through on the forums..... most all those games just add to it.

That's why there's a gambling subforum for it now.

In the casino, the "house" cannot join the game secretly. In most of these "GoogleDocs/Blockexplorer" ponzis at the forums it's VERY easy to just (with 0 risk!) send a few first payments from another address to yourself to gain even more.

I'm fine with the gambling section, however even the language specific forums get pestered by some "intelligent people" that put their text in Google translate and advertise their ponzi games there. This should be a bannable offense imho.

https://www.coinlend.org <-- automated lending at various exchanges.
https://www.bitfinex.com <-- Trade BTC for other currencies and vice versa.
