Do u? Off your antminers say once in 2-4 weeks to change air filters or any other reason?

Is it ok to SSH and poweroff it like that once in awhile? Or are the miners better off running 24/7?

Selling 100 dollar coupons (8units expire 11th June, 14 units expire 1st july) and 125 dollar coupon (2 unit exp 30th June). Selling at 20% of value

It is perfectly fine to power off your miners to do any maintenance work that you want.
I can't see why you'd think otherwise. You can turn them on and off whenever you want. You could even run them 12 hours a day.

With that said, the S9 doesn't have air/dust filters does it? Or maybe you're using third party ones?

I don't shut down my ASIC miners unless they crash for some reason, or I have to move them, or I have a power outage.

My air filters are on the air input to the ROOM though, not on the individual miners.

I shut down, disassemble and blow any dust out with compressed air.  Takes about 8 minutes per device once you get the hang of it.  If you do them one at a time, it may take an hour or so but you only lose 14T as you are only working on one at a time

The s9 firmware is read only so you dont even need to ssh in and shut them down. We plug and unplug dozens a day with no ill effects.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

I see. So u juz off the switch and no issues?
Does ssh and type poweroff help make it abit better? I am into caring for them as much as i can lol

It's a LOT easier on the power supply for a miner if you software shut it down BEFORE you turn the switch off.
It's probably easier on the mining hardware as well.

You may get away with it a LOT of the time, but it's also very hard on the power supply to be shut down while operating at high load.

I always SSH via putty and poweroff and wait 6-7 mins before switching off. I am careful Smiley
Anyways, I change air filters without turning it off nowadays

30 seconds should be plenty, unless the miner software is VERY VERY slow about turning off.
It actually should take less than 5, but sometimes the miner IS a bit on the slow side about turning the hashboards off....

6-7 minutes is overkill, but on the definitely SAFEST side. 8-)

From monitoring watts rate, it takes about 30-60 secs usually if i recall right. I juz prefer to be very careful
