Such as a coin that may started out as under 1 dollar or even be 5 dollars or 10 dollars.  It goes up from say 0.25 to 2 dollars... only for it to go all the way down to 0.05 or something like that.  Or a coin that started out as 10 dollars and went up to 20 dollars... only for it to go to below 1 dollar or less.

Can someone compile me a list of these coins?  I ask this because it seems that majority of coins go up.  I hear people say most altcoins fail.  However if a coin started out as 10 cents and stays around there or drops to say 5 cent and stays around there, i wouldn't say that failed.  However if a coin started out as 5 cent and goes up to 50 cent but then goes all the way down to say 0.005 for example, yes that would be considered a failture.  Or if a coin that is around 1 dollar just stays around that or is 80 cents, that isn't even a failure to me etc.

Can someone give me a list of these coins so i can take a look of it on coinmarketcap?  Also how many coins out there has been at least say 1 dollar and now under 1 cent?  Also does a coin every hit 0 or it does not?  Such as a coin can go from 0.01 to 1 dollar then go back to 0.01.. then go to 0.000001 etc?  If so, can i get examples?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I can help you get started by linking you to a topic where a user named crydit tracked few coins that once had value but are now dead - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=588413.0 and there's this site as well which lists coins that are probably dead http://deadcoins.com/ (I've noticed that not all of them are dead, some of them are actually rising in price, but no idea why they're listed there.)

There's also a list of coins with low value which you may have to manually go through over here: https://cryptocoincharts.info/coins/info/101-to-1000. Like for example DATA (an altcoin) had a higher value but dropped later - https://cryptocoincharts.info/coins/show/data.

There are many coins like that.
For me it is AMP coin and Aurora coin. Both did really well in the crypto boom in June but eventually both of them failed. AMP once got kicked out of top 50 to all the way to 250.
