What Is Cryptocurrency and Why Use Them?

Cryptocurrencies are a completely digital form of money designed specifically to take advantage of the architecture of the internet. They can be used in ways that ordinary currencies can’t. Cryptocurrencies don’t rely on a standard financial institution to guarantee and verify transactions. Instead, cryptocurrency transactions are checked, or “confirmed,” by the computers of the users on the currency’s network. The computers that verify the transactions usually receive a small amount of currency as a reward, and the process of receiving rewards in exchange for verifying transactions is called “mining”. Mining is the main way how a new currency is produced here, and it works differently for different currencies.

Here is a list of the Top 13 altcoins and cryptocurrencies in 2017/2018 according to market cap, future scope, demand, and value investment asset.

 Ethereum
Sia
Monero
Ardor
Factom
Ripple
Stratis
Golem
Lisk
STEEM
Zcash
FunFair (FUN)
Binance Coin (BNB)
Civic (CVC)
TenX (PAY)

I agree with you about Ethereum, Monero, Civic and Stratis. Waves is also very good investment. But I can't be sure about others. Of cource they all should grow due to the overall market grow, but why do you think, that Sia will grow a lot?

I can agree on Ethereum, Ripple, Stratis, Monero. But i would like to add Stellar to my list due to the surprising rise in December. It was nice to see a smaller coin rise so high. I hope it rises more this new year.

@Bitcoin_Talk. If you have Monero in your list then Aeon should be an automatic add in that list. Aeon's lead developer is none other than smooth, the same developer who is also a member if the Monero development team.

The coin is now under the process of a code rebase which might be released during the 1st half of 2018. After that, more interesting updates will be on the table.

In any case, if you reckon you missed the train on Monero, then Aeon is the next ride hehehe.

People will think completely different with other about what they good or not.
Anyway, etherium, monero amd stratis are my favorite too. They are top altcoin. Not grow much but more safe to invest in there for daily trade.

Investing in Ethereum is going to make you money if you do it now. Stay far away from the ICO's that ask for Ethereum deposits because they are scams.

Definitely need to add IoT Chain (ITC) to that list. They are better than IOTA because they solve the security issues and inefficient centralized architecture of IOTA. https://iotchain.io/

some alt you say are already included in my list of assets, such as ethereum, monero, stratis, lisk and zcash. maybe you can also add ripple, stellar, waves, litecoin and dash. because I'm sure it will be potentially good next year.
