i'm not new here, but just finally registered.

i understand a lot of people are freaking out that mining is not a profiable as it used to be. I am fine with this, and am willing to take a loss for possible long term gain.

just a heads up, that i'm not stupid and will not pay more than 85 cents per Mh/s.

I am completely comfortable going out and building my own.

You will get more BTC's by buying BTC's with the money I think (someone will hopefully be along to prove or dispove this with figures)

Considering that 1gh/s equates to bout .75 coins a day and will only get worse as difficulty ramps up you're probably better off just using that money towards investing into bitcoins themselves. Considering that you're willing to spend at most 850 for a 1gh/s rig you could spend that towards about 55 bitcoins at its current rate. That would take a 1gh/s rig over two months at its current difficulty. That's assuming you don't think the difficulty won't go up...which it will.

i am doing that, but i want a miner as well. I don't doubt the difficulty will go up.  This is something I want to experiment with.
