Best programs to use in Canada for trading

Hi all, sorry for asking noob advice. Ive been meaning to get into this for years but have been swallowed by 90hr work weeks. I live in Canada and have been scoping out ways to invest and trade, i will also get into mining next year(January) but right now id like to start buying a few coins.

I find there is so much information and scams that I just need some advice to get me started from professionals then I can continue on my own. Im an IT/tech/Electronics guy whos been on computers since the mid 90s. Really kickin myself for missing out on this explosion, I would have been all over this if not so busy working for the man so I hope you guys can help me get started and hopefully I can controbute back to you all in time through this forum.
