What are your top reasons to sell bitcoin?

PLEASE DONT Spam the board with anything except reasons to SELL BITCOIN. There are other threads for that
The bitcoin is price is high enough for those who had bought it for $300-$400, If you don't sell it now then in another bubble burst you will be panic selling in much lower price.

Things are chaotic as of now in terms of price levels and investors don't like this usually and hence if someone is willing to play a safe game then he should sell his holding because, at this point, anything is possible including a panic selling wave and huge sell orders pressure from future trading exchanges. Thus, if someone can't handle such situation then he should exit for some time, to be honest. That's the single reason I see.

My only reason to sell Bitcoins - when I'm having some financial crisis (can be either medical or accident's emergencies) Other than that - I didn't even consider to sell any of them, but just to hodl as many of them as possible...

I believe it is time to sell because there is no fundamental basis for valuation of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

The price is basically based on one thing: crypto is a popular idea

As far as the actual value of bitcoin. The price is through the roof and will surely fall back down - maybe to $0
How can you say that it will fall back to $0? You're right about one thing tho, bitcoin's price will surely fall back but it doesn't mean that it will not come back again. Also, you're saying that "it is the time to sell" means like you are also saying that we should never invest again in bitcoin because the way we value bitcoin will disappear instantly anytime soon and its price will fall to the ground.

I think many of us here, especially me, i sell bitcoin because of different reasons and the number one reason is for their needs basic necessities they want to buy, they want to pay their bills, and of course  to buy their needs.

At this point the risk and fees are too high. I don't think the price of bitcoin can keep going up

Holding for 10 years is difficult, but it becomes a reality if you are honest and you sell on the planned date, no matter what the price is at that moment.

Bitcoin was the first digital currency. But it most likely won't be the one to succeed.

Look at myspace vs facebook

I think the main reason to sell bitcoin is that the returns are already incredible. And the future is quite uncertain about which crypto will take over the market. More and more cryptos are being introduced each day. With bitcoin's fees becoming so high and the bubble approaching, it seems like the perfect time to cash in the majority of bitcoin profits.

The risk and fees are definitely two of my biggest reasons. I also don't think the price can be sustained

I was going to leave this post without saying anything but this reply caught my attention.
1. The price is through the roof

I have no idea how this makes it a reason to sell except if you can look at the facts from a long distance and don't take the time to research a bit into it.
Back in 2015 the price of 1000 was incredible and unbelievable. This is because the price at that point was about $250. That's a profit x4 ! And it happened just like that before we could even believe it.
And when the price hit that point, there was people just like you (exactly like you) who were telling us to sell as that's the highest it can ever become. A lot of people sold and were totally happy with the profits they made.

Oh let's just imagine how much MORE they could've made by NOT believing what the "people" said and held onto now. I'm not gonna calculate it you can do the math but we can say it's well more than 60 times !! Do you imagine ?
That's exactly why I'm not gonna sell any time soon. Keep saying whatever you want.

2. There are already 1380 other crypto currencies

BTC ain't one of them.

Quote
3. Bitcoin can be hacked
Prove it. Please hack the address on my profile and transfer them to your account.

Quote
4. The fees are way too much to transfer funds
On point but will get solved eventually

Quote
5. 1000 people control the addresses of 50% of the bitcoin
Jeff Bezon got 97 billion dollars. Bill Gates has 90 billion dollars. And the list goes on.  Got anything to say ? Plus those numbers aren't even accurate.

Quote
6. Bitcoin might crash on December 18th when futures start
7. It appears to be near the bubble
8. The volatility is insane and unpredictable
9. Bitcoin was only worth $0.003 each in 2010 and could drop back to that level
10. The only way to collect profits is to cash out before it crashes

Just LOL. I guess my first part of the quote cleared all this uselessness.

This is to Jamal not the original poster.

1. I have no idea what you are saying or talking about. Your argument is ridiculous and literally makes no sense.

2. BTC is one of them.

3. It happens all the time, the person who posted this is most likely not a hacker. There are hackers that have hacked wallets and will continue to do so. Just because you haven't been hacked before doesn't make this any less true. I have never been in a car accident while driving, doesn't mean I can't be.

5. What does the personal net worth of Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates have to do with cryptocurrencies? lmao that's the most ridiculous thing I think I have ever heard, ever. You sir have no idea what you're talking about on anything.

6, 7, 8, 9, 10... what? lol

MY Top 10 Reasons To Sell:

1. The price is through the roof
2. There are already 1380 other crypto currencies
3. Anything on the internet is vulnerable to hackers
4. The fees are way too much to transfer funds
5. 1000 people control the addresses of 50% of the bitcoin
6. The unpredictability surrounding Futures and December 18th
7. It appears Bitcoin is near the bubble
8. The volatility is insane and unpredictable
9. Bitcoin was only worth $0.003 each in 2010 and could drop back to that level
10. The only way to collect profits is to cash out before it crashes

Bitcoin can't drop to price level of 0.003 $ per 1 BTC Smiley The current resources for 1 BTC mining is more than 1k$ at least. Also a lot of large organization invested in BTC

Bitcoin can absolutely fall to $0 if the market crashes

Just because it cost a lot of money to produce bitcoin, doesn't mean people will keep buying it

I sold BTC to purchase altcoins.
Big mistake given what has happened to the market since then.

I also sold some to pay for fixing my roof. I needed the cash.
My roof still leaks and the builder has disappeared and wont return my calls!

So yeah. my two reasons for selling and neither has been great result for me!

This dude is still spamming bearish threads all over bitcointalk, I see.  Top reason for me (even though I'm not selling right now):  You don't own that Lamborghini until you actually cash out bitcoin and buy it.  Lots of people have tremendous paper profits, but that can all be gone in an instant.

You haven't actually made money on an investment until you sell--except with bitcoin, it is currency, and it is money, so that complicates things.  However, once you sell for fiat you lock in your profits.

I suspect many folks aren't going to do that and will hold on when the bubble pops, which it will do.  The only question in my mind is when that's going to happen.

Sir I actually agree with all of your post. But for me the time to sell is now, because I believe the bubble is approaching. Of course that is simply an educated guess

It's quite obvious. He seems to have a strong motive to spread FUD over the current state of bitcoin. It kind of makes you wonder what those motives are. Altruistic? I would not bet on it. So probably incentivized by someone who would like to see bitcoin fail so his coin could take the place... At least it looks like that.

I don't invest in any "coins" and this is not FUD

Just because someone has a different opinion than yours doesn't not mean they are wrong Smiley

I have clearly outlined the top reasons to sell bitcoin right now. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion without labeling it as "FUD"
