is it just me or do pools show an average lower Mhash/sec than what u actually see on your miner?

I check my speeds online a lot at two different pools, and both pools show speeds like 50-60 Mhash/sec lower than what I see in phoenix miner. Maybe on one lucky refresh of the pool's site I see what I actually am showing in Phoenix miner.

Most pools calculate your Mhash/s from the number of valid shares submitted by you in the last 30 minutes. If you get a lot of stales, or just have really bad luck, then the pool will show a lower Mhash/s more often than not.

as CNMOH says, i mine at a static 64 mh/sec, sometimes i'm shown at 23, then at 87....

it depends on the shares you solve but the stats can be a bit off at times;

All in all it does even out though.

If it does NOT average out, it means you're having really bad luck and need to wait even longer to reach the average, or your miner is not doing the amount of hashes it says it does.
