Agobooks Antminers

Hello, can someone recommend http://www.agobooks.ro as a trusted unofficial reseller?
They say they buy batches at the beginning of the batch, that's why: "We offer the best online pricing possible." and it says on their website: "Fully supported and powered by BITMAIN."
Can anyone tell me if they are know to scam people or maybe they are ok?

Chances are No. Look through a couple of pages here and you'll find this topic has been
"Ran through the mill" so to say. Also check out the "speculation" threads. 9 times out of 10
you'll find that there are NO miner resellers that are trustworthy. You've gotta go directly to the
OEM for the direct buy.

Yes, I understand you can't trust any reseller, but I see people who bought from them and everything was ok, just want to know for sure and they don't sell the latest batch, they currently have the November one. And it's at 2100 USD compared to Bitmain.

As Bitmain does not support or deal with resellers this would be the first red flag for me.

Yet Google is completely silent about their name. So I went to their webchat and had a talk. I asked if I can come to their HQ in London, they refused. And only one accepted payment method is Bitcoin. So order via BTC and prey.

Well colour me a gullible rube.

I checked out their website on Monday, but couldn't find much on them. After some online chat and a couple of emails I felt pretty comfortable to place an order for a couple of L3+ units.  The "bitcoin only" thing tripped me up a bit at first, but I convinced myself that it was fine since even Bitmain themselves only accepts bitcoin cash.  Anyway, after the transaction was completed they sent an email saying I'd receive an invoice within the next 24-48 hours and that the units would be shipped in 7-15 days and that I would be receiving a tracking number as soon as that happened.  Problem is, it's now been four days since the order was placed and I haven't had any communication with them since.  I've tried initiating the online chat, but no one ever responds.  I've also tried emailing at a couple of different addresses, but again, no reply.

Kind of a tough one to take, but lesson learned nonetheless.  Right now I'm still in a bit of denial by telling myself that communications have ceased due to the Christmas break and that all will be sorted out merrily next week.  But I think we all know that's just foolish optimism.

Yes, i think i got fooled too, said to give it a chance, they did a pretty good job with convincing, a user MichaelJJJ from here had a post that he was selling antminer that was bought from agobook.ro, sent him a PM and this was his reply:

If you choose the UPS you do not need to do anything they are the best but this is just an advice if u go with DHL. btw they do not like dhl too but this is the problem in my country and the package arrive in 7-8 days i ve got it in 8 days.

just for my safe i asked them why they write their addresses and the reg id only on invoice and they on mail that all these scam and fake sellers copy the addresses from bitmain/etherbit/etc and they just make a copy site then they copy the contact detail / adresses / business id reg everything to scam people. like bitmainmasters did with a lot of people

What made me try was that my country uses OLX.ro a lot for selling stuff and i saw a post there from a Romanian with Antminer S9 bought from agobooks.ro, he never replied or answered my calls.

Please provide your communication with MichaelJJJ as a screenshot or something, so we can get him banned from this forum. I've had a chat with their "representative" on their website. When I went back there, my browser have remembered other party responses, mine are gone.

For any of you still wondering if agobooks.ro is a scam, wonder no more.  Their website was taken down early this morning, but before it was someone left a message suggesting that the person behind agobooks.ro is a prolific scammer.  I took a screen capture of the site just before it went down for good: https://imgur.com/QNHJTyd  Apparently the alleged offender's name is Bogdan Dragomir, but no way to know for sure if that's his real name or an alias.

Anyway, whoever the person was that put an end to agobooks.ro and took down their website, kudos to you good sir or madam.  I only wish you had been able to do it one week sooner so that I wouldn't have fallen prey for, what now looks like, such an obvious scam.  This $5 565.96USD lesson is one that I shan't soon forget!!

So if it’s a scam how can we find this guy ? I also found on facebook that some guy name Andrei Cristian was posting in 2015 about this website. If you go to facebook and spell agobooks you will find the guy.

Please stop buy from agobooks.ro or any agobooks entity!!! This site was on my business ( Ago Creative SRL ) in 2015-2016. I'm the owner of the legal business I can confirm with documents. Who bought the site few years ago just starts to make fun in a bad way with my personal data and datas from my business ID , business address , the phone numbers ( personal and the business numbers ) , the names like Andrei Cristian and past workers from Endivo.ro . The sites  was deleted by me in the middle of 2016 because I shut down my business and the owner of the domain name agobooks.ro had sell it in that time looks like somebody every 2-3-4 months it is start a new website in wordpress , add some fake price and products of mining like antminer products and gpu or rigs all fake they are using dead business with public adresses or any details to get a good rating or credibility from any internet search. I get personal calls from a lot of people that get scammed even not from Romania because they use .ro domain but everytime they are speaking in Romanian and English. I have sent to the cyber police in Romanian an Email but get 0 reply for that witch is very sad after using my personal data. In past their support chat was named Andrei Cristian icsu also they've used my name, business name, address name and business phone number on fake invoice to people.... they've used even my nickname from games .... As I can see this time they''ve not used my personal data but they still continue with this fake site and using all this details like there is no problem for them. I feel bad that anyone online can use any public information of you or your business.

Otherwise please buy only from Bitmain it is all I know about online shops of Antminer product. Any used words of Agobooks.ro is 100% fake!!!! 100% they will re-start the site with new fake name, new details etc etc so please share the fake of this site anywhere you can!! And if they continue to write the words like Andrei Cristian, phone numbers , Ago Creative SRL , andreicristianro@gmail.com , any of this data showing on the site Agobooks.ro please sent me a mail with a screenshot!!
If anyone of you have more screenshoots of their details of the site will be so much helpfully for me maybe I can find somehow the guy/guys behind this fake activity. Any details is good to know.
Few details from my research and some people that called me to know:
They are using free hosting: freehostia and freehosting.com providers
I have sent email but they can't do anything
They use the activity 1-2 months at every 2-3 month
They add fake selling classifieds on sites like: amazon , ebay , olx romania and olx europe , forums like bitcointalk and other forums and facebook with fake accounts.
They are not smart enough to use an email like ( contact @ agobooks.ro ) so they have a fake gmail account: agobooksantminers@gmail.com and antminersagobooks@gmail.com with these mail scamed a lot of people as I get from calls.
Some people said to me that they can be in UK or Romania, as far as I know one of them is from Romania 100% because he knows all my personal data and business data.
I hope I can get some more information about any name / IP anything...

If we all get some information little by litte maybe we can get something out as much as I read today with people that knows better than me about these scam with bitcoin or scam page sites there is nothing we can do because Bitcoin is not traceable via any ip/name etc etc.... but I still hope to figure out a way for this kind of scam because they can turn on the site again.
A good ideea is to write all over the internet in news or anything that Agobooks.ro is scam/fake site and nobody should trust or buy from them.
I hope this topic get in the first page of google for the word agobooks.ro so this will be a start.
As alxro post about cybercrime@politiaromana.ro ( http://www.efrauda.ro ) I think this is the best way to start, I've sent a mail to them 3 weeks ago and 2-3 months ago and get nothing but still hoping! Maybe if we have more e-mails we can get something out with this situation.

May I know what answers you got though? This kind of shady website really damages bitcoin reputation in general. However, since crypto is really taking off, a lot of members are still falling for the trap because they are offering it a discounted price. I did try to see the site today and it looks like it was taken down already, either voluntary or by the authorities as they have been reported by you guys. Nice to see that we can really help each other here to try and bring down scammy site such as this one. However, they will just sprung up later with a different name so just beware. Its better to buy at Bitmain instead of getting it somewhere who promise to deliver with discounted price and turns out to be a scam and they run off with your hard earn funds.

I whent to B.C.C.O. Romania ( Organized Crime Police Department ) all the evidence that I had about Agobooks.ro scaming people. Cyber Crime Romania can investigate but after that they send the claim to B.C.C.O.  so for Romanian people please go to B.C.C.O. in the city that you leave and make a claim otherwise they will never get them...
If we just make a email to Cyber Crime Romania things will never be solved.

I've got a reply from Claus Web SRL with the actual details of the agobooks.ro domain I've copy-paste them right down. Today I've speak with ROTLD Romania about this situation and they give me the details to try to get the domain back and to change these nameservers and the e-mail address I've sent the request by a signature and copy of my ID hope they can grand me the ownership status back and delete the nameservers this way they can not acces my domain anymore. Today I'll go for the statement to the police. Looks like these guys had something to do with agobooks.ro only because the domain endivo.ro it is still with the right details and in case of anything I've changed the password to be sure. Please any details you have write down on this topic I will use the details to the statement for police.

Policeman ask me to get this details if the scammed people accept because I need to write down in the statement that will be sent to them because they need all the details.

Anyway I'll sent all the pictures and links from this topic because is very important I hope is not a problem I will link the pictures. And the name that were used online too
Yet the ROTLD team managed to give me the account back and the site is finally safe I've changed the passwords and made some pictures of the details written in the "domain account details" from the ROTLD site. Looks like the guys that get the account details are not that smart and they just log on in the Administration panel of the agobooks.ro domain and changed the name , prename , address, phone number and e-mail address other than mine. So I've sent a statement after the phone call to ROTLD with a copy of my ID and get the details back again. I will do not change the details ( only the e-mail address ) because I want to let the police investigate these details even though I've made photos with all the steps.
In any case this is just a first step now that they can not use the domain agobooks.ro again I'm not stoping here and I'll try anything to go further to find these guys not only for me but for the people that lost money also we need to do something with the people that get scammed and they are not from Romania. Please if you still see any use of the details: Andrei Cristian, Ago Creative SRL, andreicristianro@gmail and the rest of details that I don't want to make them public again on any site that is not 100% allright please contact me via e-mail / phone number / please sent a SMS before call with a message ( from bitcointalk.org ) I do not answer to unknowns phone numbers anymore.

Today I've sent the email to cyber with screenshoots and I'm waiting for their reply. Looks likes nobody is willing to continue this but I'll not stop here until I'll find who did this. Any other info will be good to know if anybody is willing to share here.
