Today I will be buying stuff with bitcoins. The first thing I'm going to buy are some of those neat tangible bitcoins. Then I'm going to buy some t-shirts. Probably I will also buy a USB stick if I can find one, some food, and anything else I want. I will post my status here.

Economy, prepare to be stimulated.

I bought some stock today. Does that count as stimulating the economy too? Smiley

Only if the people you bought stock from use the money to buy bitcoins and then use the bitcoins to buy stuff.

---------------

Just bought two tangible bitcoins from http://coinedbits.com/ for a total of 0.9 BTC.

Methink it is not that people with bitcoin should buy goods and services but that merchants should make goods and services that's very tempting to spend bitcoin on.

There's some BTC porn site around, maybe you can stimulate more than just the economy today.

You should buy some meat.  I've always liked the idea of being able to buy meat from the internet, even before bitcoin was around.

Ahem, perhaps I should have elaborated more. I used bitcoins to buy stock, on the GLBSE. (When I read your response I was very confused, how would they use the bitcoins I sent them to buy bitcoins?)

Oh, I see. Yes that counts!

----------------

I just ordered 5 t-shirts from babbletees.com:

* http://babbletees.com/products/vintage-organs-t-shirt
* http://babbletees.com/products/bicycle-graphic-tshirt
* http://babbletees.com/products/jellyfish-t-shirt
* http://babbletees.com/products/dinosaur-evolution-t-shirt
* http://babbletees.com/products/dna-graphic-t-shirt

They will be emailing me a BTC address to pay to when they calculate what I owe. Presumably it will be about 6 BTC total.

Bookmarked. I don't need a USB extension cord, but I will check back occasionally to see if you have anything I need.

There's always coffee.

If you're a tea drinker, that's coming soon.

Still around.

Any reason why the captcha on your site was half Chinese and half English?  It was 100% English on refreshing, but not at first.

Buying from actual shops rather than private sellers will most likely stimulate the economy, as rather than giving BTC to someone who will hoard it, the shop will have to convert the coins to their native currency to get stock and pay staff etc, so they are more likely to go back into circulation.

It's a captcha based on text scanned from books so I'm guessing it wasn't caught by whomever loaded it. More info here: http://www.google.com/recaptcha/learnmore

buying these today on Amazon by using spendbitcoins.com (just waiting for the amazon gift card in fact)

it's not the one-click ordering that Amazon is famous for but hey I figure it's a bit of extra hassle that's worth it to help the bitcoin economy to grow.

I've been gambling BTC all afternoon.  Maybe not economy stimulating, but is IS fun.  Smiley

I just discovered the "gambling" sub forum today.  Now I'm in trouble.
