How to spend my litecoin in my electrum (watching only wallet)

Hello everyone,

About 2 weeks ago i bought a litecoin with 1 of my keys from my electrum wallet. 1 day later it still wasnt there. Then i downloaded another wallet called (electrum-LTC) for some reason i could see my litecoin there. but this wallet is a (watching only wallet). I can see there this wallet has 1 litecoin amount in the bottem left corner. Now i want to ship this coin somewhere else, but i have no idea how..

Can anyone please help me?... I'm so lost and haven't really got a clue what to do anymore .

Hi.

A normal wallet contains at least one pair of address (public key) + private key.
If you have only the public key, you have a "watching only" wallet. A "watching only" wallet doesn't "know" more than what you would see on a block explorer website.

But if you want to spend your coins you need the private key. That's the way to tell the money is yours. Some wallet build the private key from mnemonic seed. Does "private key" or "seed" ring a bell? You'll need one of them to get to spend your coins (never post them here though)

Are you sure that you imported the right private key? It shouldn't show up as watching-only wallet, as that's a wallet that can't sign transactions because it doesn't include the private key. I use Electrum (LTC) myself, I didn't create the wallet on the software itself, like you but rather generated a private key offline and later imported it, that went fine for me.

I dont really know what i've done, but i know i messed up big time. When i created both wallets i do got a "seed", dont know how to get the private key tbh.
Where do i need to put the seed in to get the coins?

If you have the seed you are okay.
Get electrum-LTC, but this time the portable one (to make it keep its data in a different place).
Watch the steps, at one you can select "I already have the seed". You will make yourself "a copy" of the wallet. If the seed is from the right wallet, your money will become visible (and spendable) there.

I do have the seed. Do i need to make a copy of the watching only wallet? i tried already and then tried to open it with electrum, but it couldnt find the copy.

You have to "create a new wallet" and use the seed. If it's the seed for the correct wallet, your money will be shown there and you'll be able to also spend.
You should really forget about "view wallet" for now. As I said, any block explorer shows that. If you go to https://live.blockcypher.com/ltc/address/any_litecoin_wallet_public_address you'll see the amount in the wallet.

So, concentrate on wallet where you can also spend. If you cannot find the way spend, your money is lost (you can consider it's not your wallet).
