Hello,

I had someone message me today that had the same username as Crypto-Universe, official distributor for Canaan but didn't have the same activity level (which tipped me off). proof: https://imgur.com/a/B4sF4

Definitely and without question a scammer. Creative and pesky thieves lurking on this forum waiting for the right moment to strike. And PM is the preferred tool. They think everyone's too naive to fall for their scams.

Someone with DT trust should tag this scammer. I know he will probably open a new account but it's satisfying to see them make an effort, only to find out that it was a waste of time.

Thanks for sharing this with the community. Information like this helps everyone here to be aware and beware of these thieves.

No problem I'm glad I could help.

I'm happy i am very detailed because that was a really tricky move. Even though I really didn't think crypto universe would just message me saying they had miners. Plus they said 741s are EOL and not being made anymore

Brand new account + asking for payment straightaway in PM = obvious scam.

Good thing that you picked it up early and notified other people so that people can be alerted about it and nobody else will get ripped off. I'm sure that you're not the only person that has been sent that PM, probably a ton of people received that spam PM.

Always check the account PMing you to see if it is actually the right account. Never send first in a trade unless you know that the guy is trustworthy and is going to deliver whatever he promised to either.
