I want to know who you guys think runs the best pools? Stability, trustworthiness, whatever. Who are your favorite pool ops? Looking for a few, would prefer at least one P2P, but if those aren't too popular, then it doesn't matter

Let me know your favorite pool ops

I already have BigVern on the list, but as I don't often use pools, I'm not too familiar with any others. The more answers we get, the most accurate the results will be. You'll understand later

I use Silverwolf's pools and Erondook's (sp) as well.  Some have had issues, but they've been fine for me.

I like Erundook's the best. Sure, like any pool, they go down from time to time, but he does a good job of bringing them back up.

Compared to Vern's pools Erundooks are not down as often, get less stratum disconnects, and Erundook also doesn't "cookie-cutter" his pools. By that I mean that he doesn't make every coin 120 confirm BS because it would take a few seconds to alter the code of the site like Vern does. There is no reason to have to wait so long on most of the coins when dealing with Vern pools, other than he didn't bother to alter the copy-past pool site.

I gladly pay the 1.5% to Erundook to get my coins faster. Nothing sucks quite as much as mining a coin because it is super profitable, then after waiting 120 confirms on Verns pool, having the price plummet before you actually get your coins.

I don't suppose you know what open source copy paste code these pools use? I would like to set up a pool, with 0% fees and custom features that people pay for if they are interested and would like a base to start on (I know php and mysql as I have been using them for years, others like ruby I am familiar with but not at expert level).

Erundook.  He's always available, and always trying to improve his pools.  No mmcfe cookie cutter sites.  I told him this from the beginning, it's obvious he puts in the time and he deserves the traffic.

I've used BigVern's pools as well and I've had good experiences with them, so he deserves an honorable mention.

Other honorable mentions:  silverwolf, MarkusRomanus, BigAl, nearmiss, feleep

But for BTC I use Slush0 and for LTC/FTC I use wemineltc/wemineftc

i would like the idea to have a chat on these pools like on the exchanges to get in contact with the miners.

so for operators who have a lot of pools running it would be a great idea i think.

told erundook already about this idea.

He implemented this already, or is that what you meant?  It's in the blog/support section.  Good idea, btw...  Smiley

i think it would be better on the poolsite directly like cryptsy or mcxnow or e-coins orwemineltc..., no one uses that chat on his blog...

Best pool by far is http://www.netcodepool.org/.  The entire site is far above and beyond any other pool I have checked out.  From great graphics, tons of stats, a forum, a chat box ect.  They also raffle off prizes like 7870 Video cards or bars of silver.  Only problem is they are only for LTC.  When I mine any other alt-coins, I like Silverwolf's pools.  I have tried others, but Silverwolf's pools always seem to have the least amount of problems.

I'm really glad you guys reminded me about silverwolf, I've had his BBQ pool on my failovers for so long, I totally forgot about it. It was just always there lol

If any of the pool ops listed above are reading this, shoot me a pm. It will only take a few minutes, otherwise I'm going to be stalking you guys until you answer me in the next week or so  Wink
