Need help from Advertising professional or someone with similar skillset

If anyone out-there is reading this... Trying to set up advertising on my site is driving me nuts, and I need help.
So, if you know advertising and feel you can spare 5min, I'd be eternally grateful if you would send me a PM.
I have some very basic questions about layout of a webpage and how to optimize ad revenue.

Tips of general nature are of course very welcome in the thread as well. 
(I just don't feel like asking the targeted personal questions in public.)
