nvestors around the world are buying up Bitcoin, prompting some governments to issue serious regulatory rules. Bitcoin's success spurred the growth in the number of followers, including hundreds of new crypto currencies and a wave of start-ups based on blockchain technology. Nevertheless, despite all the fuss and noise surrounding Bitcoin, many investors are still not confident in the security of the currency itself. Can Bitcoin be hacked? And if so, how can investors protect their investments?

It has been said on that forum many times that bitcoin protocol (probably) cannot be cracked, it was peer reviewed many many times by many skilled developers and there were none significant flaws discovered. The danger here (if it exists at all) is just very very theoretical one.

What can be hacked, and it has been happening over and over many times before, is your computer or your wallet on your computer or any online wallet provider. You should secure your bitcoins against those threats, as they are real. So buy a hardware wallet and use it. It is currently the easiest, most secure and very affordable way to safeguard your founds.

The Bitcoin crypto currency was designed in such a way by Satoshi Nakamoto that even the expert hackers could not crack an individual's private key. Although there have been many stories that said millions of worth coins were stolen/hacked  etc.. they were actually the accounts that got hacked and not the private keys cracked. Many exchanges and email accounts have been hacked till date due to the lack of security but no one has ever cracked a private key yet and most probably nobody in the coming decades will ever be able to crack the keys. So consider it almost impossible to crack BTC.

It has been told from to time by the cryptoexperts that bitcoins are always safe with blockchain. Bitcoin is a decentralised peer to peer exchange currency each and every trade is verified by its miners again and again. So it is almost impossible to break blockchain and steal bitcoins. Still bitcoin get stolen, but from the bitcoin wallets. Bitcoin wallet users are not serious about their wallet security. Lapses in security of wallet allows hackers to your bitcoin wallet and stole your precious currency.

I think hackers cannot get through the blockchain, because if they can they have done it already. Look at bitcoin now it's still going stronger everyday.

No bitcoin network can't be hacked but bitcoin web wallets and exchangers can get hacked. The one who will trust trading platform or web wallets with their bitcoin can loss all their bitcoin without any prior notice.

Bitfinex got hacked few months ago and users lost over 100000BTC overnight.

Being as an expert of web development (to create internet base online websites), and as far as I have studied and analyzed the database of bitcoin it is almost impossible to crack or hack bitcoin database because it is a cluster of server and the vendor how who provide this services worldwide are will know across the world in their concern field for their expertise and experience. In short, bitcoin is very safe to use.

Many experts studied bitcoin and found no flaws at all. The chances of it being cracked would be close to impossible. Even private keys can’t be hacked.

Unless you can crack the key, if your computing power is the same as a quantum computer, it's ok to break the private key.
