Are there any types of e-wallets (like paypal) that is universal and isn't linked to your bank account/important personal information?
Sort of like the concept of gift cards  Huh

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

There are several payment systems.

1. Webmoney http://wmtransfer.com/
2. Perfectmoney http://perfectmoney.is/
3. Payza http://payza.com/
4. Ukash https://ukash.com (Voucher Payment system)
5. Paysafecard https://www.paysafecard.com/ (Voucher Payment system)

You don't need bank account etc to send or recieve money, but if you want to do withdraw you can add your bank account in webmoney/perfectmoney/payza.
