Hi there not sure if I am placing the topic in the right spot (sorry if I don't)

I can't figure out how to make run under Ubuntu (any versions from 14 to 17) just installed GTX 1060 6Gb I had a version with 3Gb and was running fine with 384.90 driver with Ubuntu 17.10! not understand why with a 6Gb version wont run properly

Thank you for any help in advance!

FWIW, I don't use 17, I use 16 - but these are the steps to install the latest drivers I use (latest is nvidia-387):

http://www.linuxandubuntu.com/home/how-to-install-latest-nvidia-drivers-in-linux

And I have no problems running any of the 10XX series devices on it.

Appreciate your reply, I follow up with your instructions and work all fine until I try to log back in and the screen go back to the initial stage to lock in! For some reason I can not make it works

I use ubuntu 17.10 and It works fine. In my case I think drivers came preinstalled.  All I had to do was enable nvidia propiertary drivers on "additional controllers".

Let me know if that works for you. Maybe you need to install them.

Funny part is with another Rig was working fine with a 1060 3Gb with this second one 1060 6Gb give me hard time, I am upgrading the Mobo bios to make sure nothing is missing... Mobo is a Asus 970 pro gaming, aura ...I know it's old but I don't like waist  Grin

just for the news I try already the 387.34 and all the versions before like 384.90, 384.98 but nothing give me a log in access and I am getting in and bounc me back at the log in, then I have to Ctrl+alt+F1 and apt purge nvidia* and restart with xserver drivers  Undecided feeling hopeless ... I dig all possible online resources no solutions for now... maybe I should just try different Mobo... if so would sucks

thx
