The main question is to get acquainted with the project, whitepaper, roadmap. How prospective is it? How much money they want to raise? What experience the team has? Do they have a working product or only an idea? Who are their advisors?

It's not serious! If the project has logic, potential, quality and pre-designed content, a professional team, then what's the difference what the questions are? Just do everything at the highest level and people will come to you.

I would ask team members and their project history, investors, advisors, short term and long term road map, whitepaper, marketing plan.

Actually your all question above are similar with mine. Those are kind of basic of the ico project that we need to know before decide to invest or not. But one thing i will ask first is do they have working product or not?? If not i will not invest.

Has he made a coin before? I guess that he should have success if he knows how cryptocurrency works.
