We can't question who's holding bitcoin because it's the well known that bitcoin is growing. And everyone has been treating bitcoin like gold and storing value that the longer time someone holds it, the higher value it will be in the future.

It becomes useful and people see that if they hold bitcoin it will grow more than saving their money to banks. Many people wants to earn bitcoin so that they could hold it for now and use it in the future while others buy and hold bitcoin because they think that it will grow more.

Bitcoin is not a commodity. Rather, people see it as an investment where in they are dreaming of an interest and profit after holding for some years. Others see it as a time deposit which increases in value much more compared to traditional baking. Holding bitcoin will not make it a commodity, holding bitcoin is just like saving money in a bank only with a high interest rate due to volatility in the market.
