The best ALT of 2017 the first goes to etheruem because ETH has proved to be solidly behind bitcoin in the exchange market, the second one is the bitcoincash which is all out with new features and high tech. Another remarkable coin is the litecoin which is also doing well in the exchange market, I think the above mentioned alt are the most profitable alt in the market right now.

IOTA: it is an interesting project and because it has a very low price easy to pump.
ByteBall: the airdrops are becoming so small and also its adoption has grown.
PIVX: up and coming coin similar to DASH but without the premine.

Maybe Litecoin is the best of all altcoins but still the year not finished so still we may have some time to choose the winner of 2017.

LTC made 100 times price increase in this yeas so it maybe the winner in my opinion.

I have 2 in mind now. It' s Litecoin and Etherium. These re my best as of now, I see a lot of potential on these two altcoins today. And I think in 2018, they will still be at the top. Litecoin today is starting to make a hit that shocked everyone. Little by little, these altcoins will soon be as popular as bitcoin.

I think in 2018 we'll see Dash and Ethereum pull ahead of the pack. I think the BTC clones will fall behind a bit, only BTG looks interesting with the equihash base. I also think BTC congestion will slow its growth, allowing more advanced projects to take the lead.
