Hello all, New to Bitcoin and curious about certain things. I've read some folks think that BTC will be worth up to $1 Million someday. If that's so, would investing in it be just like it is now... you buy percentages of it, unless you're able to afford a whole one or more? Or... would it even be possible for it reach that value seeing as how there are many other alt coins popping up... at some point people in general will just "give up" BTC because it's just so "out of reach?" Last... seems like the bull run has come to a halt. Thoughts/predictions as to what happens next? Thanks folks... I own .22 of BTC and 10.5 LTC as of right now. Thinking of just HODL-ing for now and hoping for many more runs.

I think it takes a long time, but sometimes I get confused with bitcoin, by 2016 I know the bitcoi price at $ 800, and today it's $ 15000, and it's really amazing if, every year $ 15000 increases, bitcoin will quickly reach the price of 1 billion more. you have 22 BTC, you will become a rich person.

Bitcoin is definitely going to be above $1,000,000 and of a truth this may happen before 2025 and we really need to take good decisions by buying now and sell then. Many of us that knows about bitcoin but could not buying it around 2009 because we did not believe that bitcoin is going to trade above $100 one day but we are now regretting that bitcoin is now above $17,000!

It's possible to go around or maybe even higher than 1,000,000 US dollars because of its unlimited potential and it now finding its way to earn more trust and motivate the public to invest on it. But the growth of bitcoin to reach 1,000,000 US dollar is not easy usually it will go to alot of challenge and obstacles before that which is why for me that it's going to take a lot of time maybe 10 or more years to come before that comes to happen.

That is a long way from happening and i believe that it's going to probably not going to happen any time soon at least. If you can't afford to buy one, obviously you are still able to invest in fractions of a bitcoin. There are no minimum restrictions. I think your portfolio is a healthy start. Holding is one of the best things you can do to your portfolio, honestly. Also set a cashout target beforehand in order to be able to cash out when you want to instead of holding in a mania phase and selling at a cheaper price than you would have gotten much later.

Thinking of just HODL-ing for now and hoping for many more runs. No one can really tell if bitcoin will reach $1 million in the near future. But isn't it great when we just have a few satoshi's in our wallet that is worth thousand of dollars? That would be fun right? But we can't never tell what the future holds specially that bitcoin price is very unstable. Most of us is hoping that it will really get to there. So its really better to just hold and wish and cross our fingers. As far as LTC you holding, I don't know it recently surge ahead, but I don't know how sustainable it is. In my opinion they are not for long term hold. But as far as bitcoin, its now already a investment instrument - long term it is. As what @btcney has said, the eccentric John Mcafee predicted $1 million in 2020 so its like 2 years from now. I hope that you will have the mental toughness though to hold your bitcoins that long.

you always buy what you can it doesn't matter if 1 whole bitcoin is worth $10 or $1,000,000. it is the same with everything else. you don't see people going around and wanting to buy a barrel of gold! they buy 1 gram of gold instead because that is what they can afford to buy. Or... would it even be possible for it reach that value seeing as how there are many other alt coins popping up...
so many altcoins are useless shitcoins that will not even last half a year. at some point people in general will just "give up" BTC because it's just so "out of reach?"
"out of reach" doesn't even mean anything. as i said it is like gold. you don't go to the market and ask to buy 1 Ton of gold! and you don't give up buying gold because 1 Ton of gold is "out of reach" you buy 1 gram. 1 satoshi is worth $0.00016 even if bitcoin was $1 million 1 satoshi would be $0.01 i don't see how that is "out of reach"! Last... seems like the bull run has come to a halt.
it is called "accumulation" google it.

Many have predicted this 1 million dollar in 1 bitcoin only, and I think it is going to be possible in the near future we can really see it, And as we are getting near the last block to be mine it will sure be possible, But I think it is very impossible now to invest when the value reach that certain point, But I may be miscalculating it because the $500,000 for 1 bitcoin is already to good as a price of a currency.

Yeah maybe in the future but even theres a lot of prediction about it , predictions will still only be predictions. Its better to not put too much hope and expectation. So that if someday that it will reach at that point then we can be grateful but if not we can still accept it.

If we're talking about the future nobody know about it exactly because everything can be happen with it, as a beginner in cryptocurrency i do not recommend to have that kind of fantasy at this moment, i think it would be better for you to set your logical goal other than thinking about something like that. if we're do some simple math about our fantasy right now, we can see that we need to have a ridiculously upward movement to reach that point which is more than 50x times from now on. right now many people expecting a downrun movement because of a crazy movement that we faced a weeks ago, in other words the price will be fall in the future or stabilize itself first before make another move. so,it would be best for you to set your sell order for upcoming months and then buying it lower from before and holding it, other than buying it and holding it until it reach a million dollars.

That will be a problem if it goes to that price. Who will buy a million dollar worth of coin that has no physical attribute? If it is too expensive it will be a big problem for buyers. So maybe we will be buying satoshis when that time comes. Not bitcoin anymore.

Who will buy a million dollar worth of coin that has no physical attribute?
Who buys millions of stock shares online that have no physical attribute? Who owns millions of digital fiat notes that have no physical attribute? Like, everyone.

Good question but we don't know or we ain't in control maybe big players will do that and will keep pumping the value, bitcoin's future is still in the hands of those who believes on it, maybe yes it can happen or maybe no because with the high value people will start to look for some other alternatives.

Most things are digits anyway. That's like saying who would have $1M in a bank account, stock brokerage account, mutual funds, ETFs, bonds, etc. These people never get anything physical, just digits in their account. How is this any different than bitcoin?

Experts predicts that bitcoin will be one million dollars in future but no one knows when exactly it will happen and its gonna take really long time for bitcoin to achieve that price and to be honest I feel that its too high to expect from bitcoins and we should be satisfied with the price it achieves in coming days instead of focusing on too long.

Wait, you are saying that if you hold 0.22 bitcoins in a few months or years you will have 10.22 bitcoins on your balance? you can invest more and make 0.22 more than 1,22 or 10,22 and just holding it
You clearly do not understand how bitcoin works. It works by the same way as fiat money and the price on dollars. Your bitcoins balance will never move, only the USD value of those bitcoins, but the real value that you have on your balance will never change, it does not matter how much bitcoins do you have in there.

Transactions have basically ground to a halt on the Bitcoin network. The backlog of unconfirmed transactions has hit record highs and is creeping higher. What makes you think you'd be able to do anything with $1,000,000/BTC when it's completely clogged up at $16,000/BTC? What do you think the fees will be then?
Don't bother suggesting Lightning Network will save us. It won't.
