Ethereum Price Achieves $752, Up 20% in 24 Hours

The Ethereum price has surpassed $752 for the first time in history, recording a staggering 20 percent increase in value over the past 24 hours, led by the US market.

Throughout the past few days, the US market accounted for nearly 25 percent of global Ether trades. GDAX, the flagship cryptocurrency exchange of Coinbase, and Bitfinex processed 23 percent of the global Ethereum exchange market’s Ether trades.

Currently, the daily trading volume of Ether is close to $5 billion, more than four times larger than Bitcoin Cash, the third largest cryptocurrency in the global market behind bitcoin and Ethereum.

What is Pushing Ethereum Price Up?

Earlier this month, billionaire investor Mike Novogratz predicted the price of Ether to increase by three-fold throughout 2018. In terms of developer activity and transaction volume, Ethereum remains as the only public blockchain network which can compete against bitcoin.


In fact, as of current, the Ethereum blockchain network processes more transactions than all of the cryptocurrencies in the market including bitcoin combined at 820,000 transactions per day.

Decentralized applications such as CryptoKitties and EtherDelta have also demonstrated the potential of Ethereum as the base protocol for decentralized exchanges and digital asset trading platforms, which is an application that is useful beyond finance.

As A16Z partner and Earn.com CEO balaji Srinivasan stated, “Why is CryptoKitties actually important? It’s one of the first examples of what people have been talking about for years: frictionless international trading of digital assets (not just cash!) on a blockchain.”


Already, CryptoKitties has processed $15 million worth of digital kittens within the past two months and other dapps like EtherDelta have also been processing more than 80,000 transactions on a daily basis.

Ethereum has achieved it's All Time High this week and it has been a good feeling for me since I am a huge ETH believer.
But DASH is a good competitor to ETH since when ETH was $400 DASH jumped to $700 and now when ETH has raised to $750 DASH has raised to a whopping $950. DASH has been competing with ETH to see who reaches the $1000 target first. DASH is very close to achieve the target but ETH will reach the target soon. It will really be a good feeling to see ETH cross $1000 and the new year might be a boom with this achievement.

I don't think it's correct to compare the price of ETH and DASH. It's much better to compare their caps.

there is a lot of pumps going on these days.
all the new money that has came in is not thinking about multiplying itself and because of that it is being poured into altcoins. but the dangerous part is that most of them are newbies who don't know anything about altcoins and they may get dumped on hard.
the losses will be great for these newbies and we can just hope the damage to cryptocurrency market isn't have big.

Finally, Ethereum can shrug off that $400 barrier, the increase this week has taken me by surprise, although it is the same week Litecoin achieved far better performance, as well as a general rise of other alts, all at the slight expense of Bitcoin. I guess all these ERC-20 tokens are finally showing their worth in pumping ETH prices up, just not sure how sustainable that can be, especially with the blockchain so stressed already thanks to those cryptokittes.

Currently just nose above water at $700 but I guess now ETH will want to look to achieve 1k in 2018. Anyone think they'll do it before New Year's?

How many other blockchain has proven to support such load? BTC not for sure. Many others claims to (in their whitepaper) but there's no evidence that this is true.

I am really glad to see ETH price surge. I do believe that ETH has got really bright future in crypto-market but it is very much underrated by crypto-traders, I don't know why!!  Mike Novogratz rightly predicted that ETH is trade at $ 2000 in 2018. I will not be surprised if ETH will trade at $4500-5000 by the end of 2018.

Im so excited for bitcoin and its future, however so much rests on the developers.

They have been working on splintering for some time now and it is so essential if the chain is to scale. We are growing closer and closer to max capacity, especially with the growing developments and popularity of Dapps.

Im just worried that is they don't improve their architecture another network like IOTA might develop a developer friendly platform (atleast Ethereum has unity to make it easy) and if that happens the scalability might cause all Dapps to transition. Dapp organisations wont stay loyal to a blockchain if it means caps on their ability to grow.

The price of ethereum rigjt now is 700 dollars and for sure it will ocntinue to increase the price of this coin so if you have extra money in your wallet right now . Better if you buy ethereum now because I think before end of 2017 th eprice possible to become 1000 dollars and what if you hold your ether for few years for sure you will earn more profit. But it's your choice if you buy or sell your bitcoin but for me the best things you do right now is to hold and keep buying ethereum coin.

I think DASH is more about marketing and ETH is more about real world usage and tech progress. I think DASH is very overpriced right now. And ETH might be under priced...

We should see that the pump of ETH was not special for itself. Most of the altcoins were pumped like ETH, even better than ETH's pump. This was a altcoin wave which we were looking for long time since summer.

Both are very good coins, I believe in the future Ether will be more beneficial and useful than DASH

Ether is the best looking coin ATM, and will go through a very good 2018, although there is some room for improvement in the project

ETH appeared to have found support at 0.04 BTC in November, but it has struggled to stay above that level so far in December. I hope we get a decent rally back to above 0.06 in the near future.
