Obviously, you will have to know $ you bought at, Current $ and $ you sold.

It's not too hard to figure out if you buy/sell with Fiat.

But if you buy BCT/ETH and use that to buy another coins, it gets REALLY COMPLICATED.

For example, I use Binance.

It shows # of coins I have and its BTC value only.

It shows total Dollar amount I have for all coins but doesn't show each coins'.

When I want to sell/buy, I also have to put 0.00xx BTC value instead of Dollar amount. (BTC value and price of coin I want to buy both Fluctuates, hard to put the right price)

If I trade coin to another coin few times, there is no way I can run stats.

I can only look at the total $ amount and say 'I put in $1000 total, hm I made $200 bucks lol'

How do you keep the track of performances for each coins???

There are many services that help you to lead a portfolio. I like www.cryptocompare.com. There you can track your portfolio in dollars, even if you trade to bitcoin or etherium. Test it, service multifunctional.

I keep my trading diary for everyday trades. This helps when you are learning trading; the reverse side is a lot of manual work. But then, with trading open and position and just wait, which means you have the time to make a few records here and there.

I also use blockfolio, which allows you to track your trades, but that one also requires manual input.

Yeah that was right. You can track it through portfolio if you want to base it in $. If you want to based all your coins into $ then try to use this one as one of your helper.

You can easily track your investments(profit/loss, growth %,current price etc..) by creating a google spreadsheet, use this script(https://github.com/bradjasper/CryptocurrencySpreadsheetUtils).

I think every exchange has their own history of trade and I usually take a look at my history. I can separate each of coins I bought and sold so I can know how much profit that I get so far. it helps me to analyze the price and I can see the trends although not much. but if we can make an excel file then it would be better.

i don't get where the confusion is coming from.

when you invest with fiat you earn profit on your fiat so you calculate your profit and save your statistics based on fiat. if it is USD then it is reported in USD, if it is CNY then it is reported in CNY.

the same thing is true when you invest with BTC. you get the profit on your BTC and also report it in BTC. any profit you make on bitcoin is an additional perk.
it is like trading with EUR when your local currency is USD and then EUR price going up against USD for some reason!

You can just create a local file in your desktop. Make your own personal spreadsheet. This is also what I have been doing to keep track of my trades and to know if I really made some profit. You can also look at the trade history in binance to see the trades that you've made. It also has it's equivalent amount in btc. That'll make it easier for you to calculate the value of your trades.

Binance is really frustrating compared to other trading sites that use just regular currency.

10% value of my portfolio (about 15 coins) dropped in matter of 10 minutes.

I check the coin prices. Some dropped, some went up. It should stay about the same but.

If I want to check the difference for purchase/current, I would have to go to the history, find old BTC value and multiply by current BTC price. Also find current BTC value and multiply by current BTC.
I mean that's a lot of work.

I don't know why they don't have the option to show how much % it changed.
