Hello!

I'm new here, and in the world of Bitcoin. I've read somethings about Bitcoin, and I'm interested in learning more about it, so I decided to join this forum Smiley

Hope to learn as much as possible Smiley

Thank you both!

I have a doubt: is it possible mining bitcoins with a reasonable computer? I mean, my laptop isn't a super computer. It is a normal laptop used for work, surfing on the internet and stuff like that.

Hi, I'm new here, too but I can answer your question:

It is possible but it's not worth it!

I think Tom01 answered your question best. It is possible that you might successfully mine a bitcoin block, but it is highly unlikely. You might also flip a penny and have it land heads up 100 times in a row. But, I would not bet on it.

What kind of graphics does your laptop have? If it's Intel 4000 HD or a similar integrated graphics chip, you will only get about 10 MH/s. If you have a Nvidia card, you'll probably get about 30 Mh/s depending on your card. But don't forget, laptops don't really have good cooling systems so your laptop might overheat if you leave it mining for a while.
