I have no trust in or knowledge of "John Galt Asset Management"
The name alone... I wonder do they give you an Advil when you open an account?

Hours of time that I'll never get back. Do what I do: look at the fandom of something. Do you absolutely hate and despise them? If so, there is an extremely high chance of you not liking the source material. Case in point, the Tea Party: a group of people who collect welfare and food stamps, do not regularly hold or have ever held a job, complain about government interference into, well, government services (such as the aforementioned welfare and food stamps and including but not limited to the FDA, the public highway infrastructure, higher and lower education, OSHA, local police and fire, DoD, DoE, HUD, the treasury, commerce, or the USDA), and somehow miss the concept that Ayn Rand believed that all of these services should be provided using a free market system, and that the public would choose the best ones (using some magic unexplained method handwaved away using weasel words like "common sense") and that taxes inherently were evil and that if such a system would be implemented, they would quite literally starve to death because the concept of having a job is beyond them.

Heh, +1.
"Dummies want a free ride", chanted by thousands of people too fucking stupid to realize their ideals don't mesh with reality.
Ayn Rand died collecting social security and medicare. Heavy lels.
It's a small, small step away from the hippies saying "fuck the system" while standing on the median in their bare feet, bumming change from passing cars.

I'm not a fan of Ayn Rand, but she was not an anarchist (nor even a libertarian). And maybe I'm mistaken but wasn't the Tea Party actually against welfare and taxes?

Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. There is no spoon. Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. 1CdVTkA288cd3m1jkdqPjUfhQ5ebei8gVT

[Professional Corporatist Left (Jon Stewart, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama) caricature of Tea Party]
Diablo, I know learning is hard, but since you are laboring under the impression that Ayn Rand, libertarians, and the Tea Party are all the same, you'll have to do more to educate yourself or continue struggling to reconcile incompatible concepts because of your false premises. Here, have a free ticket for the Clue Boat. It's steerage, but better than you snotty teenage hater types deserve! The TEA in 'TEA Party' stands for 'Taxed Enough Already.' Do you think Americans should pay more, or less, of their money in taxes? Also, are you paying taxes on your vast ASICMINER gains? Heh, that's what I thought...

That's called getting your money back... Nice try, but these communists don't recognize private property. They believe 'Property is Theft' so Ayn Rand's massive SS contributions (vastly disproportionately large because of her tremendous literary/financial success) don't count. She's not due a refund, because Marx and stuff... All they can conceive of is The Collective, like the Borg. Don't confuse their emotional need to get in any kind of anti-individualist little bitch dig, no matter how illogical, with a valid opinion. Explaining things to them using facts and analysis will have no effect; you're wasting your time casting pearls before swine. The only way to cure a diseased mind of collectivism is usually via some kind of brutal shock therapy. Starvation, rape, and mugging are the classic scenarios in which a liberal gets slapped in the face with reality and comes to libertarian Tea Party Jesus. After the 'AM hardware is overpriced even though it's flying off the shelves' nonsense I hoped the economic illiterates would leave this thread. No such luck!

A keyboard communist using armchair psychiatry in a lazy attempt to pathologize someone else's differing opinion? How typical. Let me guess, VaginicEruptor also believes in global warming, right?
