This is good news. Japan keep making good steps since a while towards supporting Bitcoin and advertising it a lot more in the same time. This news will encourage so many other people to start buying BTC and investing in it, and this will help to spread the word more about this crypto currency.

Even if bitcoin price dropping hearing news like this give me strength to believe that bitcoin will recover soon. Japan really passionate in adopting bitcoin and this is nice to know because if this country become successful in using bitcoin in their day to day transactions chances that more countries will also adopt it is very high also with this positive news the demand in bitcoin will continue to grow.

TOKYO: A Japanese company will start paying part of its employees’ salaries in Bitcoin, as it aims to get better understanding of the virtual currency, a spokeswoman said on Friday.
GMO Internet, which operates a range of web-related businesses including finance, online advertising and internet infrastructure, will start paying up to 100,000 yen ($890) monthly by Bitcoin to its employees in Japan from February next year.
“Employees can receive salaries by Bitcoin if they want to,” company spokeswoman Harumi Ishii told a French wire service.
“We hope to improve our own literacy of virtual currency by actually using it,” she said.
The offer will be open to around 4,000 employees of the GMO group in Japan, she said.
The company started a Bitcoin trading and exchange business in May.
And next month, it will join the so-called “Bitcoin mining” business — gaining the right to receive new Bitcoins as a reward for helping keep the network secure by approving transactions.
World Bitcoin prices have surged globally this year, soaring from less than $1,000 in January to $17,000 this week.
Copied from a news site.
I am so happy to hear that.Hopefully other countries will follow this as a transaction tool and bitcoin prices will be stable in the future.

I heard about this news as well and I think it's great. They give them an option and it is not mandatory. I would personally choose to be paid my salary in 50% fiat and 50% bitcoin if I was in their position.

Wow, that's really exciting. Japan is so progressive and the west definitely need to look to Japan for inspiration and stop naval gazing! It would be such a huge shift if the same happened here. I think I need to move to Japan! I wonder if the employees can change back to recieving fiat currency at any time...?

Japanese government are truly amazing persons, unlike here in our country, don't know what to with the crypto. There is already an opportunity in front of us but they kept refusing it and kept warning people about it withoug analyzing things first and a thorough study. They don't realize that it was a big help in our countries economy.

There is so mu h to look out for cryptocurrency ijdusyry in Japan. They have been utilizing it very well and now making it as a salary. Clearly, Japan sees a good opportunity in cryptocurrency. I hope some other countries do the same thing.

I heard the news about this, but if I'm not wrong it's a percentage or it's a fixed amount. It's not the whole salary.

I think this is a more widespread way of using bitcoin in the community. If all companies pay a bitcoin, it is likely that bitcoin will be used more commonly. This is a way for Japanese people to have a better view of the true benefits of bitcoin. I am looking forward to one day receiving a bitcoin instead of the normal salary.

I think this is good news, but I'm wondering how many of the employees will actually choose to receive their salary in BTC.
It seems to me that all conditions will be embodied in the contract.

Whoa! That's an interesting news, if this is really true. Japanese have really proven their love and acceptance of cryptocurrency. Something China has been so causion about. I wonder if China will feel Japanese is becoming a country higher in technology in Asia than her. Hopefully, this might trigger China to lift her ban off ICOs. And Moreover, lets see if the western countries whom accepted cryptocurrency will follow the foot step of Japanese. But I doubt if they will.

This is awesome news. I love Japan.
If Bitcoin ever does become a real preferred currency, it's definitely starting in Japan (and perhaps South Korea) long before anywhere else.
Yes, Japan is amazing country when it comes to new things and also those kind of positive news are supporting crypto currency market. We may also start seeing other companies to follow even in other countries, probably in Europe.
