Yes, absolutely. It is necessary. School is a place of learning, it should be of least concern what to wear and having a school uniform suppresses this 'pressure'.

Yes, and I don't think that they need to wear uniforms since they are being prepared on what they will face in the future. Yes, people will recognize the students with high social statuses in that state but in the future when they are working, they will be facing a lot of powerful faces and that will be the only time they will be feeling the pressure since they are not used to it.

Uniform is great, yes but the fact that we don't teach them how the reality works will also be the reason of their fall. Let them see their differences to other people so they can acknowledge them and think of his or her own way to reach them and maybe pass those people in the future or maybe in his or her career.

This became an issue in my country as some people in the government are pushing to eliminate school uniforms in public schools. At first, I really want to see myself in the situation where I go to school like those in the american movies. But as I think of it, I realized that it is better to stay at having school uniforms. First reason is that it is practical. An argument says that it is cheaper to have no uniforms but they don't know that students might have hard time to buy more clothed as they don't want to wear clothes again and again. Isn't it more practical to just have school uniform? Second, it shows formality. It somehow shows discipline on students and also that made them distinct from other schools. Lastly, it somehow diminishes the social status issue as having the same uniform for all the students make them equal in a way and also that lessens bullying as a result of wearing not good clothes when uniform is eliminated.

I think that uniforms has its pros and cons. Uniforms will help promote discipline among students, reducing the need for administrators and teachers to be discipline because of clothing policies and reducing distractions for students since it is often time consuming to choose the right outfit every morning. On the other side, students and parents argue that uniforms violate their freedom of expression and it is very costly.

In this part (Ghana) of the world, where crimes abound we cannot put away school uniform due to the immense roles it plays in legal identification of students, school uniform gives us a sense of responsibility and belonging so cannot do away with school uniform.

Grew up having to wear school uniforms under an English uniform standard.

I don't think we should force people what to wear for school.

Its a form of conformity starting at an early age where they are attempting already to mold people into their way of thinking.

Here in the USA the public school system allows a person to dress as she or he pleases which is the right way to do things.

School uniforms are part of educational institutions' tradition. It signifies uniformity, decency, and identity. It establishes a vibe wherein the one whose wearing it feels like they are students and it keeps on reminding them that they need to study. On the other hand, there are some schools that do not implement wearing proper school uniform policy. Arguing that it does not have any relation with the students' academic performance. But as for me, I do believe that we should practice wearing proper school uniform since it is a form of developing our discipline and ability to follow. I think wearing school uniforms are more practical than deciding and wearing your civilian clothes everyday. However, I also believe that students must be given at least once a week to decide what they are going to wear as long as it isn't offensive nor inappropriate and irrelevant.
