Bitcoin's % in the crypto space will definitely go down, but I don't see any altcoin bringing down bitcoin in the near future. Ethereum and Litecoin seem to be the most powerful candidates, but I don't think they will take over bitcoin, at least not in 2018.

There is no threat for bitcoin for the other crypto currencies, the others currencies must think about the bitcoin. bitcoin is a 24/7 threat for other crypto currencies, because the rate of the people invest in the bitcoin is more high than others and this rate is raising day by day. And I think in the future the total invest of the crypto currencies will be convert into the bitcoin, because of its high value and high raising rate.

Nothing makes bitcoin more special than others infact the system and congestion it now has is really much worse than other currencies. Hefty fees are too long transaction times are just stupid. Its absolutely the first mover advantage due to which cryptos are recognized mainly with the name of bitcoin. Its like the first ruling king of cryptos.

Other cryptocurrencies don't represent a threat to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a threat to altcoins. But the biggest threat to Altcoins are other Altcoins, since they have to fight to be #2 in the crypto market.
The value of Bitcoin doesn't depend on how many cryptocurrencies exist in the market, so yes, its value will continue to grow.

And no matter what features another altcoin might have it's not like we're talking precious metals here.

Silver can't become gold (although we can create gold from platinum or mercury but that's far too expensive).
But bitcoin with a hardfork can copy everything an altcoin has.
It can change to 10 MB blocks it can change to 1 min blocktime time , so it's rather a thing of altcoins having nothing special, just a line a code that can be copied.
But users and trust, that's not a matter of code lines.

Ethereum is being tipped for large increase and litecoin has done well recently but they are well behind bitcoin. Some ERC-20 tokens have increased last few days. I can see the hedge funds controlling bitcoin in future.

Bitcoin isn't threatened by other cryptocurrencies. Actually it's the other way around. Also if you look at it, whenever bitcoin takes some crazy gains, almost all alts are down, that is because traders are moving their money from alts to bitcoin. And when alts shoot up, there isn't much change in bitcoin's price and the money is just moving around bitcoin - alts but most byproducts are being received by bitcoin. Specifications speaking, bitcoin might be left behind, but then again it already has established its name amongst traders that's why btc will always be the king.

Indeed, what made bitcoin so successful is that it was the first cryptocurrency introduced to the world, the idea of having a decentrelized currency that is not controlled by goverments and banks seemed yet so good, and yet so impossible to achive, but poeple started investing in this idea and support it , until it became popular and this made its price go up and that made it even more popular, i feel like there is no cryptocurrency or altcoin will ever be a threat to bitcoin, because all they are doing is basicaly copying it, people think that they are made just to try  and be as successfull as bitcoin but they can't and they won't, the only way i could see them becoming a threay is if bitcoin was to go down to 1000$ and lets be honost that won't be happaning.

you say that because its in your interest to say that, not because its good for the people,

or in other worlds, those that have a lot of bitcoin will find reasons and tell everyone why bitcoin is good and those that dont say otherwise,

for example for those that dont own bitcoin, there is no interest to say bitcoin is king or valuable, thats a very important point.

main reason bitcoin is and was successfull was the dissapointment with the banking cartells that ruled the people.
