What was Ethereum price in January 1,though never say never but if the price of Ethereum hit $10k then it is going to take the position of BTC on CMC by then, because if BTC do 10x its price will be above $100k by the end of the year

At least there should be some conditions met:
1. Eth should integrate Raiden and some distributed FS to have cheap and fast transactions and ability to store large docs on blockchain
2. It should actually incorporate with some large corporation or even government of some country
3. It shouldn't be hacked during this time

This could happen in the ongoing year, because more support has been gained by ethereum over various other altcoins with its unique platform which has been serving as base for more projects. Already the price has been found around the $1200, so by the end of first quarter of the year $5000 could be easily reached.

Ethereum is growing very fast recently so i think it needn't 3 or 5 years to reach $10k even the price of Ethereum can quite reach $5000 in 2018. It is still a good option as long as the coins you have invested are still growing. XRP are still going up, I wonder when the pump will end because there are lot of speculation that it is only being pump.

I guess Ethereum will most probably be reaching around $5,000 in the year 2018. But I think $10,000 is too high. The first time i had a quick look for Ethereum was July 2017 with a price at 237$. I think because of Ethereum has value with their smartcontracts the rise isn't over. But the transaction-fees are a problem. Maybe the EOS System will solve that.

naturally tehy will try some private rubbish blockchain first, of course I mean after that blows up in their face 

I like the Petro but I cannot take any security on a blockchain serious unless it is ERC20. Only ERC20 is truly unstoppable.

So I made a prediction on Litecoin a few days ago that sparked a lot of conversation on the thread. It was very interesting reading the different thought processes and predictions. So I decided to do the same for Ethereum, however, I think that Ethereum has a chance to go beyond the 2-5k threshold in 2018, if only they would market a bit better. I believe that they need to get these new "coinbase noobies" to understand what Ethereum is and why it's significant if they want to stand a chance of getting above that threshold in 2018.

I think that with good work of developers the ethereum will be able to reach the price of $ 5000 in 2018. Only they need to work well on vulnerability system that users are not afraid of hackers.

In fact, ETH has made great technological improvements and they have created a lot of smart contracts from ICO projects. I think the $10,000 price may be coming soon as demand for ETH is increasing and people are buying ETH to invest in ICO projects.

Possibly the price will start to recover in a short. This will lead the price reach $5000  or even higher by this year. Because, bitcoin is losing its value and under peer pressure from the government. More people has been switching to ethereum from bitcoin which might generate more market to ethereum.
