I was in the middle of programming an iPhone app when my computer took a shit, this was back in February. I was making really good progress, but now I can't work on it because I need an Apple computer.

I'm getting fed up of not working on this, but I need $800 worth of Bitcoins to buy a new laptop on craigslist (since iOS apps can only be developed on Apple computers). I have a bond of about $2,000 waiting for me in a few weeks, but I want to work on the iPhone app now. I will return $850 (negotiable) worth of bitcoins to you for the risk and will give you the first $150 out of $300 of my profits once I release the iOS app (if I make any). So if I make $50 in the first week of release, I give you $25 etc until it goes up to $300 if that makes sense.

Keep in mind, lets make it easy and say Bitcoin is worth $100, and you give me 8BTC ($800), and when I get my bond money Bitcoin jumps up to $200, I will give you 4.25BTC ($850) back. Similarly, if the price instead drops to $50, I will give you 17BTC ($850) back.

Feel free to Google me, my name is Reed Weichler.

I have never done anything like this before and if anything seems sketchy feel free to ask.

EDIT: Since people keep asking about collateral, I'll save you guys the trouble and copypaste it here:

Alright, how about my What.CD account? It has about 100GB upload and 40GB download, donor status etc. and the ratio rules on there are such that you can go as low as a ratio of 0.10DL/UL, so if I scam you, you can literally download every single piece of music that has ever existed in FLAC and destroy the reputation I have on that site. I also am almost at the Elite user class, which gets about 4 invites per month, so you could just sell invites (worth $25 each) until I get banned. I'll even let you download a couple of albums as thanks for the loan.

So, 5 months ago, shit happened.
You waited patiently until now.
Some bound due in a few weeks is coming.
Which sets you on fire and here you are, on the lending subforum, offering "if".

How did you manage to hold the frustration for 5 months ?
Good luck.

[OVER] RIDDLES 2nd edition --- this was claimed. Look out for 3rd edition!
I won't ever ask for a loan nor offer any escrow service. If I do, please consider my account as hacked.

At my university there were fairly newer Macs that were freely available that I could develop on when my computer crapped out. It was less convenient, but it was better than shelling out another $800 for a new laptop. Summer started in June, and I've mostly been hanging out with friends and having fun, but my parents moved to Reno 3 weeks ago, and since then I have been doing literally nothing. I am losing my mind due to boredom, and the thought of doing nothing productive (or fun) for another 2-3 weeks waiting for this money is torture.

Also, here is a picture I took of Xcode on the Mac to show its legit (taken in May I think):

You could provide a digital collateral like ASICminer shares or send something valuable through the mail. For example, if you had an iPad, you would mail it to me and I could freely give you loans up to it's value because I could sell it if you default.

In BTC world where scammers, liars and everything in between are prevalent, you will 99.99% not get a single penny from anyone here, unless somehow you provide collateral. No one cares about your identity over $850, it would be more costly to fly there and beat the shit out of you then the $850 is worth if you didn't pay it back. Face it, I'm a college student myself, but you won't get the loan. Try a bank, you probably won't get it either but hey I can assure you your chances with the bank loan are better then here.

He specifically requires a Apple device to develop (tbh a cheap used Mac Mini will do, OP) for iOS.

Also @OP: There are cloud based mac environments where you can compile your code (and develop locally).

Cheesy - Why not go to somewhere like BestBuy, and apply for a store CC. When I worked there a few years back, they had really good deals like 0% for 90 days. If they have something like that, you can buy your computer, pay it back in 3 months and not get charged a thing, plus earn some credit.

Credit Cards are VERY useful if you know how to use them properly.

CC is not an option because if I bought the computer at best buy it would cost 3x as much as it would on craigslist.

Don't want a Mac Mini. Want something portable.

And what kind of cloud environments are you talking about? Do they supply IDE's like XCode?

Sorry, no founds for lending, but if you need an OSX environment quickly, you can run it on on an average PC:

If we talking about cloud based Mac environments maybe you want to take a look at this site too:

This is exactly the one I was thinking about. They offer XCode and many other IDE's as I think it's primary target was actually for non Mac owners to develop for Mac OS without buying an expensive computer from them.

Also they have cheaper rates for students.

Why does it have to be a brand new laptop? What's wrong with a second-hand one?

He was talking about craigslist so I guess he wants a second hand one.
