I really Like Cryptsy!

It will only get better with time!

Oh, no doubt!

Cryptsy is only having these issues because it is growing at the pace that it is. Growing pains! Smiley

edit: BigVern has been notified. Should be fixed soon.

might need to change tcp nameservers again to 8.8.8.8

last time this happened the only way to get back to the website was to change to public nameservers on my end

EDIT: This fix that worked last time is not working right now.

99.9% sure they are safe. Cryptsy is the only exchange that values protection of your coin over anything else. I was worried previously on similar events but not anymore, they really work hard for the customers. I honestly would trust Cryptsy over BTC-e and Gox with my funds any day.

... I think if the site goes down all the pending orders should be cancelled. I am not constantly hitting F5, and I don't want the site to come back up and execute some trade in a changed market if I am away.

I think this would make things worst.

First, the market would be all over the place on resume.

Second, this would provide a way to remove all the sell/buy walls.

We do not need more reasons for "hackers" to use DDoS as a tool to manipulate the market.

I agree.  Big Vern does a good job with Cryptsy.  But anytime a site like this goes down (not just talking about crypsty, but any site with a large user base and other people's funds behind it), the first thing the administrator should do is to "calm the masses".  He may not know what the problem is, and may be waiting until he does to tell us.  But I've always thought a simple "We know there's a problem.  We're working on it.  As soon as we get more information we'll let you know." goes a long way to help.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th.  The Attorney: I would advise you do that.  Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor?  The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law.
