What BigFred just said (he posted that just as I was finishing a draft of this my post).

--------------------------
TRY USING A WEB PROXY.
--------------------------

For example: You may be able to access cryptsy.com by using the Tor Browser bundle! This may also be true for any web site which at any time may become inaccessible to your local region of the world.

I am at this moment very grateful for the Tor Network, and the invention of the same. This is a custom Firefox browser which automatically sets up a Tor client, and connects the (custom) browser through that client. I believe this bundle is available for all major computer platforms.

Here's one place to find it (I am *not* affiliated with them, but the official Tor site(s) seem to use a certificate which my (standard, less-secure) browser doesn't recognize, so that it throws a warning about the page) :

http://www.pcworld.com/product/1252475/tor-browser-bundle.html

Right now I am personally able to connect to cryptsy.com through whatever exit node my Tor Browser is using. I can also log in and trade (I just sold some alt-coins), and cryptsy.com is properly recognizing transaction initiations to some of my alt-coin wallets there, when I send amounts of alt-coins to the same. However, I can't do any of this right now through my local ISP (and/or the web infrastructure local to my ISP. (How could that be??)

If I've saved you any trouble, you know what to do Wink Maybe for BigFred, too.

AND IF YOU DO IT, DO IT IN ALL CAPS! AND MAYBE DOUBLE-EXCLAMATIONS, TOO!!

I moved all my coins to Cryptsy last night, they better be safe or I am seriously screwed Shocked
They are safe, Cryptsy went down for me the moment I was withdrawing.
When it came back on, everything was fine and I successfully got my coins out.

From what i have gathered it was an issue with one of the servers. It is back online and another is being added.

Cryptsy is just going through "Growning Pains" the site has seen record days for trading and user registration in the past weeks

Ok first I want to apologize to everyone for our lack of updates during the outage. Both Vern and I were caught off guard and it was fixed before we even had a chance to respond to this thread. The issue was related to our newest server going offline that's why some folks had access and others from other areas did not. The good news on this is to make sure we don't have this problem in the future Vern added yet another Front end server so not only will that help with the issue that happened yesterday but will allow us to prevent the lag from growth we had on the front end last week. Cryptsy has very steady 10% daily growth.

As far as slow confirms on certain coins well we are in the process of moving to new servers for our wallets that will fix the queuing of coins. Massive amount of deposits of certain coins has led to some backlog on some the faster coins seem to get it the worst. BTC and LTC should already be moved on that note.

We have made dramatic improvements to our security. For our DDOS protection we have pretty solid protection now but they are always trying. Our fraud system though constantly being tweaked was able to catch the recent FTC attack and allowed us to inform the devs that there was an issue with their coin. I cant go into details on how it works but the system detects potential threats to a chain and will auto suspend trading and provides vern with information needed to sort it out. We have several safe guards that ensure your funds are safe even in the case of a major attack so have no worries.

So as we continue to improve and grow be assured our priorities are as follows. Security, Stability and then features in that order. I just want to thank everyone myself and BigVern for your amazing support as we all grow together and look forward to a bright and growing future. Thanks for using cryptsy.com!
