First and foremost: I'm not getting a mining rig, I'm getting a GAMING RIG. Therefore I do not treat it as an investment and I do not expect it to ever "pay for itself". I'm simply curious if it would still be viable to put it to work at this point in time and how much return, if any, I could reasonably expect.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

You can squeeze about $2 worth of bitcoins a day out of it at the current mining difficulty and exchange rate.

unless your electric rate is quite high, you should be able to make some bitcoin with it.

i personally use a 6870 running the latest poclbm and get ~270Mhash/s which nets me 0.2 BTC/day currently.

depending on your clocks (mine runs stock at 915mhz core, memory clock is irreverent for mining), you should get somewhere between 200-250 Mhash/s, which would be 0.15 to 0.18 BTC/day.

unless your electric rate is really high (more than $0.20/kW-hr), that should be profitable for awhile yet, since you don't care about paying off the rig.

Yes. 24/7.

I am squeezing 253mh/s out of mine with all the newest software and with a 944mhz clock. In my hot ass house, it stays at 69c.

it assumes it's running 24, as i didn't include a per week figure.

you'll get 1/2 to 1/3 rate while playing games.  at least that's what i get while playing WoW with mining set at -f 240, which results in no performance loss in game.

Its starting to get to the point where its not worth while.

My 6850 gets me 277-280mhs  0.20 - 0.19 btc a day
960mhz core stock voltage
500mhz mem
63C
poclbm with options -v -w 256
Been optimized with the 5% faster mod and the 2% faster mod as well some small changes by me.
