AIUI the miners vote was related to the upgrade of the main Bitcoin blockchain to introduce Segwit. This is effectively becoming an altcoins (like Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and the various other similar forks). That's assuming things actually happen as is being claimed (like others I'm not really convinced by this project).

My assumption is this is why they're doing a premine at the point of forking. They're going to distribute some of the coins in the premine as satoshis originak btc. Personally I'd argue that this isn't actually redistributing satoshis original btc, it's more of a giveaway based on some undisclosed formula (I.e. if satoshi did reappear he could still spend his original satoshis still on this fork after they've supposedly been redistributed).

All holders of Bitcoin BTC who store their funds on the wallets and services of our partners will receive Segwit2X [B2X] in the ratio 1 : 1
In addition, we will distribute a proportional number of "Bitcoins of Satoshi Nakamoto" to all those who support hardfork!
By “Bitcoin of Satoshi Nakamoto” we mean what the founder and chief developer of Bitcoin BTC mined at the time of zero network activity. They will be credited to the crypto-exchanges and wallets of our partners gradually. The list of partners will be constantly updated on our website! Even if Satoshi Nakamoto wants to get B2X for his pre-mining, he is not able to do this, as we blocked the initial blocks for conversion to Bitcoin Segwit2X.
It is worth noting that this present to users who supported us will be credited sometime after the basic conversion 1:1.
