Hi Guys,  I've been on the net reading soooo much and now I'm totally confused, lmao.  But here are my baby steps questions:

I'm ready to invest some money into the Bitcoin world.  This is both as a new hobby and to earn some money.

My budget is $3000.

What would you recommend.

A:  Either I build one  -  And what do I build?  ATI or nVidia etc.  Motherboard, Ram, Linux or Win etc.
B:  Off the shelf pre-made.  -  Brand, links maybe?
C:  Don't bother, its dying.

If I do either, please can you elaborate to get the most out of my investment please?

Thanks guys.

I would say build one, using  4x ATI 7970's with 4 gb ram, Win 7 works well, a lot of people use Linux or Ubuntu. I would go with Windows unless your tech savy, Linux can be difficult when you are new to it.

I would Use it to mine LTC or other crypto, and exchange them for Bitcoin.

Mining now is almost too difficult unless you get into FPGA or ASIC, key is to find and get them mining before everyone starts using them.  Good luck man

you should buy a big custom PC like alienware but buy they're most expensive stuff it's the best. it may not be made specifically for mining but it's much better than most mining software out there and a lot cheap for it's price you should get it

Most valuable advice given for free on newbs section!!
Always diverse your investments and if you are speaking about Bitcoin mining, just forget about GPU based rig!
KNC is looking promising and with serious backing.

This is only good if he wants to mine BTC we don't want to confuse him
