Maybe due to the fact that XVG has better potential than other privacy coins and is still very cheap.

XVG is worth buying. A lot of people are currently purchasing bags full.

I know of nothing, but on bittrex almost every alt under 100 satoshi has pumped at least 30% so there's obviously something to be drawn from that. Verge is relatively cheap granted but the supply is pretty massive.
