There is a lot of accusations that ripple is more of centralized crypto which will only benefit the government and banks not for individual investors and also it serves the agenda of bank to penetrate the crypto currency market ? Is it true ? Because as far as I think ripple.will benefit everyone and make transfer of funds more easier and there was an recently article where there are speculation that ripple.will be more decentralized than bitcoin

Doesn't Ripple survive based on the belief that it is supposed to be some sort of medium for banks to move value in the form of cryptocurrencies back and forth? It might as well be centralized because of it existing solely to benefit banks and their subsidiaries. Ripple won't ever be more decentralized than Bitcoin, maybe it will be more distributed than Bitcoin but it almost sure as hell won't manage to be more decentralized.

Ripple has been around for years and always been in the top 5 of cryptos yet I have no idea what its purpose is.
I need to do some research into that.
All I know is it is related to banking/banks in some way.

Since ripple is not a part of the blockchain, then there is a possibility that it has its own characteristics. What I know is that it is more decentralized than bitcoin because the transactions are spreaded in a multiple of directions.

OP should have Posted the Article That He/she was going To Introduced to prove the Statement of This Thread He/She Made. As Far as I know Every Crypto Currency Coins/Tokens That is Listed in Every Exchange Site is not yet Centralized, We Know That Bitcoin is The Leading Coin in Crypto industry but it is Still Decentralized and more accusations About it, So, In other Words Ripple is not yet also centralized. ( Correct me if i'm wrong).

The only thing I know about ripple is that it is connected to the banks. Some can say that it is centralized because it is supported by banks but some can say too that its decentralized since its an altcoin. It depends on the opinion and the understanding of the person.

Ripple is centralized in almost every way, controlled by a very small group, and they hold 60% of the coins.
Owning more than 50% of course means that they can literally do whatever they want. So I wouldn't say that it has any limited number of coins....it is basically an infinite supply when you get down to it.

I was around when Ripple was first introduced on this forum. Their method to introduce Ripple to the people here, was to make it rain with coins, but ONLY to people who linked their social media accounts. < A lot of newbies fell for that and revealed their real identity >
Ripple came on the scene, when Banks and Governments complained that Bitcoin was too anonymous. This is why Ripple is seen as a BankCoin. ^grrrrrrr^

I just don't know how fact is that but I know that Ripple is more decentralized than bitcoin. However, it is too scary if it was held by the government. It can be the reason when it will dip down by next year. I recently read news, 13hours ago Ripple overtaken Ethereum as the largest market cap in altcoin.

Same thoughts which back in the past i dont really bother about that Ripple thingy on what are the things that is useful on it but as majority being said here specially to those who are really cryptoenthusiast this thing is really centralized which investors do have involvement with banks or any other centralized instutions which means price might be affected or somehow can be manipulated.

Ripple volume is almost equivalent to bitcoin. this is even stronger since japan-korea work together and make big room for the coin. So far we only focus on eth and not aware Ripple is one level above them. large volumes will be directly proportional to the complexity of use and price increases.

I'm inclined to believe that Ripple is more centralized and owned by company which somehow uses blockchain in their internal operations. And I suppose that it is impossible to make Ripple fork.

Well, as for my assumptions it is a centralised coin since it is backed by banksters and if Ripple would worth $10 or more in its value it would be a multi billion worth of dollars just by a crypto because of it's current volume. In fact that the other volume is kept by an escrow I think Ripple really is a centralised one.

In reality, you could say that Bitcoin is a form of centralized currency - as whoever has the most mining power has the ability to control which transactions confirm to the blockchain. As it becomes more widely used, the incentive is there to try and manipulate it's direction.

There is a lot of accusations that ripple is more of centralized crypto which
these are not accusations, these are facts! - supply is in full control of a small group, the creators behind it which are banks. they control almost all of it but technically they have more than 60% of the supply. that is 60 billion coins * ~$2 = $120 billion
- there are not nodes run by peers! which is exact contrast of a decentralized network. instead the nodes are run by Banks and Ripple Labs
- here is the best part: Ripple Labs can "freeze" your account aka your funds. they did it with John McCaleb funds who was the co-founder of ripple!

Ripple will likely prove to be more useful than Bitcoin in the long run. Bitcoin's network is crippled by capacity issues, and the plan to "solve" it is the Lightning Network, which is a centralized system run off the blockchain. That is, the proposed solution to Bitcoin's network congestion is for Bitcoin to be less like Bitcoin and more like Ripple. So any criticism of Ripple in that regard is hypocritical because Bitcoin will soon be employing the same tactic. Second, Ripple was created to utilize Blockchain to solve issues banks face in value transfer, and it is already backed by some of the largest financial institutions in the world. It's the implementation of blockchain's potential, just without the bloat and expense of running it on Bitcoin's woefully inadequate blockchain. In a comparison of which system is better, Ripple will prove superior, and I expect Ripple and other alts to eventually pass Bitcoin in marketcap as Bitcoin continues to fail at what it was initially set up to do, and perhaps as soon as before the end of 2018.
