I'm a total newbie and so I want to check on the forum if these people are legit or are they possibly scamming people for their BTC.  Plus by posting here perhaps it would keep others for falling for this if indeed they are scams.  Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!

First is from an e-mail from someone I contacted regarding mining:

My minimum investment is $500.  This is how it works.  My miner is very compatible with blockchain wallet.  You have to create a blockchain wallet
(go to [Suspicious link removed]).  Do not verify your email address until the miner has been installed to your wallet (after that, to install the miner, you need to send your wallet id and password).  After i am done installing the miner, you can change your password (for self confidentiality).  Then you can fund your wallet.  For instance, If you start with $5,000 you make $10,000 in 2weeks (but you have to send back my commission which is $2000 [20% of your profit] failure to do this will force me to deactivate my miner link from your account).  I need to know your investment budget so we could commence.  I await your response.

The second is from someone in Switzerland on Twitter:

We generate returns through several Trading ledgers and also investments are used towards HashPower for mining Altcoins which thanks to our Interledger have a 30000% to 55000% conversion rate once converted to BTC, therefore the increases are very high and we also profit 25% from returns for service fees.  Unfortunately at the moment our deposit address on our website is malfunctioning and to ensure secure returns, use direct platform to first register any investment return address as well as initial amount invested.  Generates a wallet address linked to your return address in our system and this allows your returns to be automatically redirected and sent once net gain amount has been reached.

Obviously a scam, there is no way someone will give you 10.000 USD in 2 weeks after you deposit 5000, it just does not work like that. Also "deactivate your miner account" is a total crap. "Unfortunately at the moment our deposit address on our website is malfunctioning and to ensure secure returns, use direct platform to first register any investment return address as well as initial amount invested.  Generates a wallet address linked to your return address in our system and this allows your returns to be automatically redirected and sent once net gain amount has been reached." what?

First one sounds like an obvious scam sorry. $5,000 to $10,000 in two weeks? Too good to be true. This is crypto, but no one can promise a 100% return in two weeks. You also need to install some wallet from a link he gives you and then he must install something on it? And then you need to send him wallet id and the password???! No way you are going to do that please.

Regarding the second one: The mention of 30000% to 55000% should make you run away like crazy. Remember if anyone can make those returns why would they let anyone else in?

The first one isn't just scam, is worse than that.
Once they have your password, they can note down the recovery seed and therefore have access to your private keys for infinite time. Doesn't matter if the password is changed afterwards.

lol Cheesy smart tricky scammer. exactly as kahc said (he posted first while I am composing this)
note the part he instructed you to NOT verify your email address  Tongue
and another lol at "self confidentiality" and "fund your wallet"
might as well just donate your BTC directly to his address.

in other words, please deposit on our behalf and don't ask for return.
you will complain to the platform owner but they will not be able to help you.
this is "triangle scam trick" involving third party unwillingly/unknowingly in the scam.

The same thing holds true here as anywhere else - if it sounds too good to be true then it is. There is no way someone is gong to be able to earn profit like that and let some random in rather than just earning it for themselves.

Scam, try to report to these thiefs in forums or in their twitters, so you could save to many people who for any reason decide to trust in them. I was scammed once, and I would be very grateful if someone would have do something like that before it happened to me.
