Expect 1-2 months delay trying to get money out of MtGox.
Their support are capable in doing nothing except pissing off their customers or giving generic copy-and-paste replies.
I would advise anyone without extraordinary patience to stay away from MtGox.

Yes, there are issues.

No one has been able to get money out of Mt. Gox in US dollars for the last month.

Read the other threads in "Service discussion" about Mt. Gox and their problems.

For what you're doing, yes MTGOX has generally been reliable.

If you ever want to see your fiat, don't use Gox.

The question is - can you read? There are three threads just at the top of the page about MtGox money transfers problems - but you are still asking about that?

If you just want to transfer in money, buy bitcoins, and transfer the bitcoins out then I don't think you'll have any issues (other than maybe withdrawal limits if you don't have a verified account).

Getting fiat money (not bitcoins) out of Gox has been quite a problem lately though.

You will lose 6-10% on the spread between exchanges.  Not a very wise decision.

the only people who will recommend mtgox at this point are customers who hope that your incoming wire transfer will increase their cashflow and enable a few withdrawals.
the wiser decision would be to use bitstamp or a service like bitcoin brokers.

@OP I wouldn't. Wait a month and see if gox doesnt have more issues than they already have. If they do, you have not lost anything.

Why pay $93 on gox when you can pay $85 on Bitstamp?

That difference makes your mining hardware profitable sooner.

Why not wire the $10k to bitstamp and buy there, better price for ya, and no delays on deposit (I made a deposit monday and it credited today).

what can I say, it seems that at least they look at those IDs so it kinda vouches for them doing their homework.
Try and send them also a picture with a nice red square identifying where your name is. And an explanation as well.
