Hadn't noticed Sifcoin had been released a while ago.

I thought Quarkcoin had an entirely new proof of work.... unfortunately... it is just a copy of Sifcoin.

PoW hash is quite similar but not the same, take a look at this commit: https://github.com/MaxGuevara/quark/commit/506b294665eb61033cee7bf7404235a93db4e535
Of course I gave you bad advice. Good one is way out of your price range.
