Information Security is the Internet's currency
Internet currencies, especially virtual cryptocurrencies based on blockchain technology, depend entirely on information technology. Without information technology carriers, the Internet currency does not reflect its value. Therefore, the security of information starting from the Internet currency is its grave consequence. The virtual cryptocurrency, characterized by decentralized anonymous circulation, could lead to theft of all currencies once distributed nodes have information security issues, failing to track currency ownership and even the entire currency issuance and circulation system. In early 2014, Mt.Gox, the world's largest Bitcoin exchange operator, was stolen for security breaches, resulting in a stolen 850,000-bit Bitcoin trading platform that led to the bank's bankruptcy and the bitcoin collapse.
With the huge rise in the monetary value of the Internet, driven by huge amounts of wealth, it is inevitable that more hackers will devote themselves to solving various network currency encryption algorithms. Therefore, in the legalization and standardization of internet currency, information security is the most important part in ensuring the development of the internet currency.
Currently in China, the Internet currency is not legal. Regulators official definition of Bitcoin is still "a specific type of virtual goods." Trading can be done on a risk-free basis, but "can not and should not be circulated in the market without the equivalent of a currency's legal status." This does not prevent China from becoming the third largest Bitcoin trading nation through Japan and the United States. As a long-term and important trend in the information age, China, as the country with the largest number of Internet users in the world, possesses the most dynamic and large-scale Internet economy. It is necessary to actively participate in the innovation of online currency technology, speed up the regulation and control of short-term production and distribution of online currency, and ensure the safe and healthy development of online currency.
