I looked up some of my addresses at: https://www.ub.com/explorerAnd if I have a UBTC balance with that info, do I need to do anything else by Jan 3? I don't think so but not sure. I would like to know as well.

What does manual distribution of inactive addressess mean? This will be a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain, 1:1 ratio of active addresses, manual distribution of inactive addressess followed by the first cross-chain distribution of supported cryptocurrencies after January 3, 2018.

I guess the real question is : How would people who have trezor/ledge access UB coins ? The UB coins will be on the UB blockchain. They will be sitting there and you can access them with your private key. So just figure out how to extract your BTC private key for that address and you can access your UB, once a wallet supports it, of course, and allows for private key sweep.

Checked the balance on one of my BTC addresses on UB explorer and it appears to be zero? It looks like a transaction happened on 2017-12-12 04:32:56.0 which moved the funds at my address to a segwit address that isn't mine? Any explanations?

Same happened to me as well, my UBTCs were transferred out to 31rZdrTpN57Wbfhg7xTPxeFGjEQaMBjxoo address, see the 7cc9db8d1fd7789961f6e165723364d5e87501b75034f07bc1216f8835c4dfb6 transaction on UB blockchain. UBTC developers appears to be quite greedy, those funds ended in a 1604192 UBTC wallet, worth >638,000,000$ at the "current price"

(wishful thinking)

Found this on their website We expect to distribute UBTC by 24 th January 2018 as announced yesterday. This would suggest that there is some manual intervention required perhaps? Maybe I am being too much of an optimist but I would hope that the UB coins will get distributed fairly by that date. Otherwise if all the coins have ended up with Mr Garzik then I can't see it being that useful as a currency, I mean, who the hell would want any if only one person has them all??

BTW: For airdrop 2, was it still a requirement to send some BTCs from wallet A to wallet A? Or just any transaction from that wallet between specified blocks?

The distribution seems weird. Any reasons behind it?
This is UnitedBitcoinThank you for asking, yes are several reasons. Let me explain, UnitedBitcoin’ s fork breaks from convention with regards to distribution by differentiating between active- and inactive addresses. There are several advantages for doing so, first of all, it allows us to distribute UBTC across chains and across communities. Second, because there is less alt-coin flipping, resulting in less volatility for Bitcoin itself. Lastly, the remaining (inactive) balance can be used as collateral for future Eco-system developments. Except from the utterly stupid conditions regarding which addresses are inactive and which aren't.
