I live in Los Angeles, California. I have connections in the budding marijuana industry here in LA, and I'm going to be visiting dispensaries all around LA pitching them MotaCoin.
I am going to take this in the direction of Ripple & Stellar by setting aside a reserve of coins to give dispensaries as incentive. I am going to be setting aside ~20% of the total for this purpose.
I think giving each dispensary 2.5% will be a great stake for them.

Yeah there's a number of em out there sure. But name one that's connected in any way to Los Angeles. Marijuana is basically legal here in LA, there's a dispensary ever 50 feet in any direction!
My coin, MotaCoin, is gonna begin here in LA. I have friends in the dispensary business here and in Las Vegas also. I believe I am the first person to bring crypto to the Los Angeles medical marijuana industry.

I've heard there's another sort of cannabis plant with 9 leaf thingies in them, I wonder what exactly they grow there around LA. But ASIC algo is the #1 choice of any failure out there at Coinsmarkets. If you wanna sell a lotta MN like Bulwark or Numus (I got a seat in GBX MN as well) that means a coin mineable by most of the folks not just chinese whales. ASICs should be banned. Except those for BTC and LTC of course otherwise their blockchains would get stuck

I'm looking at my options with the exchanges, I'd like to find one I don't have to pay, since this is not going to be an ICO, it's gotta be cheap. Do you think its better to have an ICO and have decent funding or should I just launch without an ICO, what do you people think?

I think I'm going to, I'm going to need some funds for certain aspects of this. Paying for nodes, getting windows/mac/smartphone wallets compiled (very expensive for this part), advertising, video production/editing, social media content creation, travel expenses...I'm really excited, I feel like I figured out the correct model to attract dispensaries. Previously when I tried to pitch it to various locations, the model was launching an ICO and having them buy the coins, and then as they accept it for payments and give it real world use, the world will buy it up. However,they had to just take my word for it, that I wasn't going to bounce with their money and leave them hanging. They didn't make their money in this industry by taking risks that stupid. So, the solution is to premine ~30 million of the 100 million coins, and keep it aside to give to dispenaries as incentive. I figure the size of the dispensary/chain will influence how much of the premine they get, but I think that's by far the best way to do it. With that aspect, I also plan on on putting up ~30 million coins to be purchased as an ICO, to give non miners a chance to buy in. I'm going to have coins generate about 12% inflation annually, while also having coins released through proof of work. I may have the POW rewards mirror the coins generated by the existing coin supply, that seems to be a great to way to split up the network hashing. I would love some feedback!
