"While you still can't buy a meal at many restaurants with bitcoin, you can now pay your rent with it.

ManageGo, a Brooklyn, New York-based rental platform that offers landlords and tenants payment and maintenance scheduling services through online and mobile applications, is now adding bitcoin to the list. Starting early next year, a tenant can pay in bitcoin through the mobile app."

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

No matter how good this sounds for Bitcoin, I do not think I will ever use my Bitcoins to pay my rent because surely my landlord will be the one benefiting from the price of Bitcoin. If ever I ran out of fiat currency, I would rather sell my Bitcoins for a higher amount then convert the same to fiat currency so I can use the latter to pay my rent. This way I am sure that I only pay my landlord what is due the latter, and not wrongfully giving him the added benefits of accepting Bitcoins in lieu of fiat.

It's a great idea although it's only in NY. This means that we need more companies to take the initiative.
I'd like to pay my rent in Bitcoin, although I'd be concerned of government agencies trying to use this opportunity to make a list of citizens who are holding cryptocurrency. I'm not trying to start a hysteria here, but if you're living in a private property your rent goes to the local government, not a private company. When they start cryptocurrency from you they will try to tag you as a possible holder of cryptos and monitor your activity looking for undisclosed income and possibly trying to find how much coins you're holding.

Pass. I hoard. I once purchased a plane ticket in BTC and get pissed off whenever I think of the current conversion rate.

I do not know about you, but pay something bitcoin. I think this is not bad, many have long been waiting for it. One problem in my opinion is the commission, here it is necessary to solve the problem.
