Hey guys yesterday had a buddy over(joey) and we put together three of his rigs he just ordered, was a fun build and found the cards to be performing much better on equihash (ZenCash) as opposed to the ethash numbers we were getting, anyway here's the full video guide on what we used and how we put it all together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ61StmW8R8 another miner posted this on the video, sent it to joey waiting to hear back on some numbers 1060 6GB RIG FULL PARTS LIST available to buy on Amazon 1060 6gb x6 http://amzn.to/2yS1HFl (PNY) http://amzn.to/2zkpSzt (EVGA) http://amzn.to/2oAgeoY (Gigabyte multiple versions) http://amzn.to/2BarFd6 (Zotac AMP) http://amzn.to/2yS1z8P (Zotac Mini) http://amzn.to/2ySp1CP (Asus dual fan) PCIE Risers (6x if needed) http://amzn.to/2hUHeJK (shown) http://amzn.to/2ySHWNG (alternate) Motherboard http://amzn.to/2jwsQI2http://amzn.to/2B96nfV (Alternative Mining Ver.) Prices and availability make that a little hard to build right now and will have such a long break-even time based on the current costs, if you can find them.

I know T_T let vegas slip out of my hands @ 400 a card because I needed the payment to clear on my card so i could buy them .. then they shot to 500-600+ / simply out of stock and they just dont seem worth chasing to me right now at current availability and prices

I wish I could mine any altcoins, but in Brazil, the electricity is extremely expensive whats the price per kWh? & what do computer/rig parts cost there? The kW/h costs R$ 0,40899000 (around 0,124222533 U.S. dollars) but there are other taxes (TE, PIS/PASEP, COFINS, ICMS) that double this cost. I saw someone selling on Facebook one basic rig for R$ 20K (around 6074.6 U.S. dollars) but the seller seemed dodge. If I had solar power in my house I would be a miner! It doesn't exist a single block mined in South America, which is a shame since Brazilians are very much into BTC and altcoins.

I wish I could mine any altcoins, but in Brazil, the electricity is extremely expensive whats the price per kWh? & what do computer/rig parts cost there? This is an electricity bill from some dude that tried to mine by himself using only his computer R$ 1 944,84 = 590,706253 U.S. dollars The Brazilian minimal wage is 284 U.S. dollars ONLY. The government is not interested to see poor people getting rich, that's why they leave the electricity companies charges whatever they want.

Those 6GB cards Hynix? because that's some poor ETH hash, 20 per card? Not a fan of PNY but for the price your friend got them for, they're probably not too bad.

what do you think the best rig(s) to build right now are? I think its a toss up right now depending on your budget. A 6x 1070 Ti rig would be my preferred build if you can find the cards for the right prices. Outside of that I like the 1070s. I have been running a mix of rigs with both versions and they perform extremely well. If you are going for a budget build then I agree with the 1060 6gb version. The reason I dont like the 3gb is the resale value and long term hold up as difficulty increases. While that may not be for awhile its nice to know the 6gb wont be effected anytime soon.

Hi,
This has gone away from the original topic, but still interesting.....
just thinking about electricity costs in other places too, not only South America.
Would anybody like to share their prices?
For me here in Czech Republic I work on approx. 0.1 USD per unit (kW)

Why 6gb cards?
that's what he wanted to do, what would you have suggested? I built my rig using 3 gb cards. Would be interesting to know the performance difference between 3gb and 6gb. I did read that people say you need the 6gb soon because of the size of Ethereum’s DAG file. ....but I forget the estimated date for this to be an issue..... ....comments?

You have less than a year for DAG to kill off 3GB cards, DAG is not expected to hit 3GB until 29th Nov 2018, imo your 3GB card will pay form themselves and leave u some profit until that time. plus you will be able to mine something else, so no biggie

Partizanai, thanks for your reply, your are correct with that timing you mention there is plenty of time, thanks for the good news. BTW I have ventured away from eth already, but I guess now is the time to return with the last price I saw.....

Vosk are you still high on zen? I know you've been mining it since before the huge runup earlier this year. Is it still worthwhile
