Hey all,

So Ive been mining for a few months now using my home-built GPU machine getting about a 1200kH rate and mostly mining the less difficult coins. Because the bitcoin difficulty rate

Ive read a bit about these new Butterfly lab machines with GigaHash rates. I mean they're pretty much out-dating GPU mining machines right?. I really think with the cost of GPU cards, plus the added wattage costs to get maybe a 2400kH machine online and the things drawing like 10 amps and costing a lot of money to run and getting very little in bitcoins. WHen many people are now bringing 5-2500gH machines online which run very cheaply in power cost and are also increasing the bitcoin DIFFICULTY rate of enormously.

So I think I'll order a Butterfly labs 5gH machine and test it out. I know theres a waiting list of a couple of months, but right now a 5gH rate will get you roughly 80 bitcoins per day. Thats roughly $6400 and even after 2-3 month waiting for the machine on back order if the rate went down as low as only getting 1 coin per day thats still better than what i'd probably ever get with a self built GPU machine. I mean I keep buying videocards and buying videocards and probably will never get profitable because of the power costs...

feedback??

hey is there anyway to screen my user name... which is an email address
seems like the preferences setting should have a slot to allow us to input a cover name to go by

can I send a PM as a newbie to a moderator? cause I sent one to (tysat), but I never got a verification message after I sent it, so I dont know if it went to him...

You should recheck your calculations my friend.  5 GH/s will not get you 80 BTC per day, more like .08 BTC per day.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

really according to the calculator its 80

each level steps up 3 digits right?

5mh = 5000 = 0.0804  coins
5gH = 5000000 = 80.4484

putting 5000000 into the calculator here shows 80 bitcoin

or is it 5000 = the gH rate??

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency

ah forgot one side is kH the bitcoin side starts at mH

so 5000mh = gH rate = .08404

ok I edited the bitcoin rate I put up there earlier, forgot one side of the calculator I was using was (mH) to other side was (kh), I thought 80 coins per days was probably a dream..
