Bitcoin's idea can be summarized as "Be your own bank", and we all know that banks sometimes get robbed. This means that every bitcoiner in in charge of security of their own bank, and this include many potential attacks - hackers might steal your coins via Internet, thieves might brake into your house, thugs might kidnap you, and lastly like in this case, government law enforcement cal legally brake into your house and seize everything they want. Experienced Bitcoin users learned how to prevent hacking by using offline machines and hardware wallets, but many are still vulnerable to physical attacks, because they keep their seeds written on pieces of paper, like the guy from this article.
