Full Bitcoin node computer security

Hello every body!!

I was wondering if running a full Bitcoin node on my main computer @ home is a good idea or it's not safe?

Am I going to be a target for hacker that could enter my home network and compromise my computer?

Would it be safer to buy a computer and to use it only to run a full node or it won't change anything?

Running a full node improves your security in the sense that your node will have checked the blockchain first hand. But running any software can also have negative consequences.
