In our local newspaper, it actually said (after translation):

Quote
Founder of bitcoin sells everything: "bitcoin became completely unusable"

Offcourse, the guy who is one of the owners of bitcoin.com will say bitcoin became unusable and bitcoin cash is the future... I mean, bitcoin cash is his business, right??? I would find it very odd if he said otherwise, since that would be rallying against his own business.

I would catalogue this as FUD.

The matter of fact is that he's not the founder of bitcoin, he's just some guy that is involved with an independant website that is pro-BCC

Boring! If you just type Bitcoin news, all news are being completely negative towards Bitcoins, all they are trying to create a mass panic and get people to sell their coins. Now how do we really know if he has actually done it? He could very well be paid for saying this? Bitcoins cash is owned by Roger who we all know will attempt to distract the Bitcoin user's. Guess what people are smart, they are not selling and they are making good amount of money, instead I plan to sell my btc cash for btc.

Haha, he just made the right announcement after selling his bitcoin, he gave statement degrading the bitcoin and it's normal for he is now investing on bitcoin cash, he made that decision to catch attention and to hype the bitcoin cash. A common businessman's act.

Roger Ver has vested interest in bitcoin cash and is the owner of bitcoin dot com and would say anything negative just to spread FUD about bitcoin in order that people move towards bitcoin cash instead. Meanwhile, people sell off their bitcoin every day, I fail to see any reason why I should bother about this news.

Ok, Ask yourself this question :

What will happen with BCash once the Lightning Network has been implemented?

BCash was introduced to fill a gap. The gap occurred when Bitcoin had problems with scaling. {Then SegWit was introduced to

temporarily fill that gap, until the Lightning Network compliment it as a permanent solution}

BCash was just some stop-gap attempt to capitalize on the scaling problems that Bitcoin had at the time. Now it is being touted and

hyped as the perfect solution. {Increasing Block sizes is definitely not a permanent solution}  Roll Eyes

Well, he has the right to support bitcoin cash, though it may be unwise to sell all of one's bitcoin with imminent upgrades and implementation of the Lightning Network. Besides, bitcoin is increasingly being viewed as digital gold. Either way he should be fine, having made his millions.

I'm not buying this. Another attempt to bring the confusion and panic among bitocin users for very selfish puposes. Bitcoin cash is not the future and can't replace bitcoin, it's the altcoin with not so very bright future.
This is not the first case to try to underestimate bitcoin and to spread false information which doesn't surprise me having in mind the current bitcoin success and how that is annoying certain people.

Read about Roger and his cronies and you'll see why. Read about SegWit2 failure.

Mostly he is doing this to increase bcash price. At a time, when bcash price went suddenly fro 300 to 1000+ and now it is stabilizing, may be they will try to increase it furthur.

why is this even a topic here? there is nothing news-worthy about this whatsoever.
some dude claims he has sold his bitcoin to get bitcoin cash. yeah check the altcoin board, there are lots of dudes like this who are saying they sold their bitcoin to buy x and y every day and each day an x and y gets pumped for a little while and then back to normal.

This kind of attempt that were trying to over throw Bitcoin is really an old news. I have seen a lot of posts, blogs, tweets, feeds, etc. that were the same but none of them suceed. Seriously, there are also people within exchange sites chat boards that spreading fake news to lure unsuspecting people for a pump and dump scheme. There are a lot of propaganda regarding Bitcoin throughout the years and ever since it value started to grow. It only signifies that it is trying to create a hype that will favor BCC. Moreover, the author, or whoever created that kind of news is trying to manipulate the public to move over with BCC.

I have a strong gut feeling that once LN is implemented A LOT of alts are going to get completely crushed at that point. BCASH will be one of them. People like Roger Ver are very short sighted. Bitcoin will get upgraded and once again be competitive and lots of people will cash out profits of alt coins because of this. Just stay patient fellow bitcoin HODLers. Our time will come and in a VERY big way

But when is LN going to get implemented? I haven't read any concrete information recently, and the longer it is taking to implement, the more people might lose their confidence in bitcoin. This is currently one of the biggest things that scares me about bitcoin.

Absolutely,i think OP is not familiar with roger ver and BCH.That's why,he has said that he is worried.BCH is nothing but a trashcoin just which got importance since a record as created in pumping its price to almost $1,800.

No such individuals could decide the fate of bitcoin by just selling their holdings.

What I first noticed was it is co-founder in the title and founder in the content of the blog (inaccurate). He could just sell his BTC without the public knowing or without saying where he'll invest after but he did. Most likely a marketing strategy for BitcoinCash imo.

I would catalogue this as FUD.

The matter of fact is that he's not the founder of bitcoin, he's just some guy that is involved with an independant website that is pro-BCC
I agree with this.

He is probably the one dumping his coins right now just to make it look like Bitcoin is not going to go up any further lol.
